It’s insane how much a superstar-level lebron means to this team. He’s literally the difference between lottery and 1st place in the West. Unfortunately, I don’t think he can carry the load this time.

Well I will say this. Historically playing in Portland has never been good for us. So we were up against it before the game started

2-8 in their last 10.
Five games left. I can see them going 1-4 at best to finish off the season.

If AD plays like that, replace Kuzma with Lebron, add Schroder and THT , I think they have a pretty good chance

Why did Vogel even keep Kuzma in it? He literally cost us the game. He was already 1/10 and then at the 40-second mark we're down 3 with 19 seconds on the shot clock and he takes a goddamn *Steph Curry fastbreak I'm on fire* three. This dude man, this ain't good for my blood pressure. At least this game showed me AD can still show up if he wants to, but he's not a first option player that's also the unfortunate case.

Re: Lakers @ Trail Blazers, Game #67, 5/7, 10:00 PM
On the plus side, we finally got a 2020 AD game out of 2021 AD... He needed this to get his mojo back, as long as he doesn't pull up lame after this...
KCP and Caruso came to play... Those guys were great. Marc did too... There seems to be some rookie type rule with him that if he misses a shot he sits or something, because he missed like 2 shots and went straight to the bench even though he looked decent.
Drummond was essentially trash tonight... He was ineffective on both ends of the floor and he looked like he couldn't get out of his own way and was on the verge of taking AD out on several plays fighting for rebounds... He's just a much worse fit than I imagined...
And Kuz... Damn man... Serious question... Has Kuz ever made a key play for us when the game was on the line? He sinks a ton of shots in the first halves of games but I have no idea what he's done to continually be thrown into these critical situations... Like he's going to hit a bunch of key shots and turn the tide... It doesn't happen, it's just not him, and I can't believe someone on the coaching staff still thinks it's going to happen...
And this is the second key game where it seemed like we got completely out-coached... Why not even try Trez in the game? It just seems like vogel has no idea how to adjust anymore... He looked that way for much of last season too, but I'm seriously starting to wonder if a lot of the brilliant adjustments he made in the bubble, weren't drawn up by Rondo...
I think the team needed this game to wake them up, but these last 4 or 5 games have taken me past 'Hmm... that's weird..." straight to 'Oh, ****, we're in trouble...'
The play-in is looking like maybe the ideal situation for this team to get some wins and prep for the real post season.

Moral victory. Whatever that’s worth.
But Drummond sucked. Kuz couldn’t buy a bucket.
Weird stuff happened too. That dunk of AD that got puked out by the net. It was already in.
& that offensive interference on Kuz on the follow up from a missed 3... I thought they were swing plays that killed lakers momentum.

It is also weird that most of us Lakers fans, (admit it or not) are actually not UPSET with the loss bec they essentially avoid clashing with the Clippers in the first round? They get in the play in Tourney, has 2 chances to get it, face the Warriors, if they lose, face the winner of Memphis and SAS. If they lose and get bounced, then they deserve to lose.
Lakers get some real practice time to figure things out, Lebron, AD, Schroder etc more time on the court then they face Utah or the inexperienced Suns.

We was down 3 with the ball in our hands...and I was feelin it! We was takin this game. And then Kuz shot this hurried shot, and it didn't look right. He wasn't squared right. It didn't feel right. And the Mofo Jacked up a brick.
As Laker Fans weve seen tons of moments like that. Some sink in and others bricks.
When Kuz clanked that shot, I knew it game was over. He's got to get more dialed in and understand late game situations

Is there a basketball ghost in Portland??
How did that ball jump back out the basket ???
AD slammed it, the ball didn't ricochet off of anything but the nylon net, and then it decided to go back up against gravity for some reason and come out from top?
There were several things in this game that should have been an extra 6 or 8 points for us.

Re: Lakers @ Trail Blazers, Game #67, 5/7, 10:00 PM
The BS goaltending call that led to a 3 from Dame was an absolute killer... The dunk by AD should have been a 3pt play on top of it, because he clearly got hammered as well.. All that was from Dame getting T-ed up for not getting a call 30feet from the basket on a draw-contact-and-shoot 3 on the other end... the refs started gifting them calls after that.
I think it's pretty clear the basketball gods want us in the play-in at this point... Maybe to add legitimacy to that stupid process or something... Like 'hey, it isn't just about making sure Zion is in the playoffs, see!'
