I don’t understand this, it’s also a **** ton of money to take on and no obvious way to change course if it doesn’t work out well.

On August 3rd, I would not be surprised if the Lakers add Shroder from their side and the Wizards add Bertans from their side. Lakers got to have some kind of plan to address their need for three-point shooting.

My skepticism of Westbrook has been well noted on this board, but atleast we got rid of some deadweight. Going to interesting to see how Pelinka fills out the rest of this roster.

Good pickup for you guys for a bunch of scrap pieces. Russ doesn't help with spacing or shooting though but you have an official Big 3 now. What happens with Schroder now?

Letting set in and I’m a fan. Lakers biggest issue isn’t shooting, it’s getting AD and Lebron into the playoffs with their health intact. No one available helps more with that than RW. Gonna need a lot of load management and someone who can take on that load for Lebron/AD.

This is a huge aspect that I’m sure people will overlook. Still need to fill in some holes but he’s an upgrade over what’s going out.

I would have felt much better if WB and Beal made it work last season but they barely made the playoffs. He is going to do some heavy lifting with rebounding and passing but spacing and shooting remains A PROBLEM.
I was kind of hoping they keep everyone except Kuzma and pick and just adding Hield. Rob is not done yet. Hopefully he finds that legit shooter

What are the chances the pick isn’t involved.

Yup. I'm hugely skeptical regarding this move, and regarding RW overall. That said though, this is the point many seem to be missing. The load management aspect in the regular seasonis a great point....and to add to that, this is certainly a positive regarding a potential/pretty likely scenario if Lebron or AD have to miss some playoff games. If lebron or AD were to miss any extended time, we are screwed, period. But hypothetically if AD has an injury like he had against the Suns, and we are up 2-1 on a series, a talent like Westbrook increases of our chances getting through that series and moving on and giving AD some time to come back strong.

My point being, when AD went out, Lebron simply didn't have the stamina at his current age to carry this team. and there was no one there to help him. Westbrook, despite his glaring flaws and poor fit, would change that.

hey Warriors fan here trying to figure this one out???? How do you guys like the fit and court spacing? Lebron is so good with the ball in his hands and Westbrook is pretty much an on-the-ball player and doesn't space the floor. Am I missing some mad genius?

In theory they now have the choice of signing and trading Dennis anywhere he is interested in getting paid at and getting something back. Same goes for THT. They can also just retain Dennis and THT both and have a dynamic back court

Don't like the fit at all... Russ should allow AD a ton of open looks though. Russ is super explosive. I'll wait to see other moves before I cast judgment on this trade. This is a very risky trade. You have a ton of money tied up in three players that do not fit well.

I wouldn't call that dynamic. All three are obviously poor at shooting from the outside and love to drive to the hole.

Hopefully AD is planning on playing the 5 a lot more and Lebron is planning on playing the 4 a lot more. That will alleviate some of the fit issues. With that said, this is a move with the idea that you’re just going to out-talent teams. There’s really no consideration of fit with this move.

Shannon Sharpe said it good the other week, Russ is a floor raiser, not a ceiling raiser. For the regulars season Bron and AD can coast or miss games and know Russ is good enough to get you a playoff spot especially with the play ins, whereas last year we don't make the playoffs if we don't start so hot. Bron and AD can have gas at the end and Bron may be at a point where he looks to be a scorer more to catch Kareem with a guy like Russ out there. Now for AD this means he may get alley oops back again which he didn't get without Russ

Now for the Wizards, I happen to think they got more depth than ever before for Beal. KCP, Kuzma, and Harrell are more talented than what he had as depth since Wall left

I mean dynamic as in they would have speed and explosion which they did not have before. Shooting is a flaw sure

I’m betting they’ll be eyeing a TPE for Schroeder. Hopefully they can find a team with a shooter looking for a salary dump. I also tend to think Redick and Mills will find their way here this offseason.
