Kuz KCP and (I guess) Harrell Appreciation Thread

We used to have these appreciation threads way more back in the days. Regardless of how each one of us feel about this trade, (good or bad), we just lost 2 big pieces that helped us get a championship. I would love to hear about your thoughts about Kuz and KCP's tenure as Lakers and to see your favorite highlights of them. Harrell was a bad fit and had a short stay, but I still appreciate his hustle. Kuz and KCP though, are Lakers family.

Couldn't be more happier that those two are gone. Not for Westbrook but at this point, you take the good(this two out of town) with the bad.
Pelinka is cold as **** though. Second year in a row, you choke, you're gone(Green and these 3 plus Schroder). Might be a trend going forward so it's fair to expect this every offseason.
As for Westbrook, he's basically an albatross expiring in 2022 if this doesn't work out. We're getting the goodies for him should we want to trade him for anybody after one year.

From Dr. Aki on the gen board

In all seriousness thanks to Both of them for what they did. Kuzma was too Hollywood to stay in LA. He will improve his play away from distractions. KCP was a big reason we won a year ago, but man did he stink it up this year. He could not make a shot to save his life.

Had high hopes for you Kuz, but you kept on trying to be Hollywood rather than focus on your basketball training. KCP thanks for the champ and the hot shooting in the bubble. Harrell.........I guess now I know the reason why Clippers didn't want you, but you were more tolerable than the blonde stripe hair dude.

I appreciate what KCP did for us, but the other 2 can just leave through the backdoor.

KCP rose to the occasion several times... He was key to our last championship... But he also could make you hate him for long stretches of a season...
Kuzma never lived up to the hype, and unfortunately, the hype was constant for him... Not sure if he gets good advice or not, but he's basically the same guy he's always been on the court.... Time to take a look at yourself and put in some work. Stop worrying about being a celebrity, and start focusing on becoming an all-star...
Harrell was solid... Never complained, was always ready... But the things he did well, when he did them, never seemed to get us through the tough patches... I wish him the best but I'm not sad to see him go...

Same. I was hypercritical of Trez since day 1. I had seen enough of him in the bubble to know he was a one trick pony. I don't think any real contender will make a play for him again. As for Kuz I have mixed feelings. I fully backed the dude at the start of the season and he showed flashes but at the end of the day the pressure of playing in LA was too much for him. He flamed out in the worst way possible. With that being said, he's not as bad as casuals on the GB make him out to be. A team like Washington could do wonders for his career.

KCP and Kuzma both rose to the occasion last year, especially in the bubble. KCP has been very frustrating tho, especially pre-title when he was earning more than he was contributing... and we all hoped Kuzma would have developed more by now and become a genuine 3rd star on the team... but we're gonna miss them both and wish them well. I think I'll miss Kuz more because he's one of our draftees and he's been improving a little every year.
I'm not fussed about losing Harrell but wish him well also. I like his energy and some of his inside game but he can't defend bigs and can't help defend the perimeter despite his smaller size for a "big" and that's a total no-go. Also appreciate him making the move from a rival, that can be hard to do... would have been fun to see him get a ring and lord it over the Clippers, lol. He has helped out with the S&T too.

Not gonna lie, I'm going to miss KCP and Kuz. Salute to Trezz wish him nothing but the best. Wish we could have kept KCP though.

KCP had more 3's in his 4 years than Eddie Jones, Rick Fox, Nick Young, Michael Cooper, MWP, Jordan Farmar, The Machine, Lamar Odom, Jordan Clarkson, Magic, Devean George, Robert Horry, Anthony Peeler, Brian Cook, Luke Walton, Sedale Threatt, and James Worthy.
Not all great shooters, but some of the best we've had and it gives you a perspective of where KCP ranks among Laker players who have spent significant time with us.
Although inconsistent, when he was on, he was really one of our best 3&D players ever.

KCP is a good player and can fit on any team.
Kuzma still has potential and trying to find his niche in this league. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays better elsewhere.
Montrezl is a legit post-scoring big man if given opportunities.
Thanks for their contributions and best wishes to all of them

Harrell was a dawg. Useless against bigger competition. But for his size he brought his all. I do recall a game where we were just dead. Dunno if it was travel, or just a lull, or somethin, but we had Zero energy. Harrell this particular game was inserted into the lineup, and he went crazy. Brought the energy, and the team caught onto it and turned it up immediately after, and won the game.
Glad we got rid of him, cause he was a liability. But that is the 1 story I'll say about Harrell.
KCP, well the bubble was his ON time. Caught fire at the right time. And he got his chip.
KUZ? This fkn guy. Its like this 1 time, I went to a hotel in Vegas, and seen a bingo and said, ill try this out. Yelled bingo, and I was wrong, I had marked the wrong numbers or whatever. All that hope and wishing for KUZ to be someone, he never actually was, and had him pegged wrong all along.
Hope they have success wherever they end up.

I like Kuzma, the hype got too much, then he signed for too much. He’s a good 7th man and has talent. Similar for KCP. He can defend and played his role. Harrell was not who I thought he was. I thought he could be our Rodman. Turns out he was our Radman(ovic)

When you can get a guy like WB you do it and don’t look back. He is a superstar and I have always believed him. If the Lakers can keep from taking erratic shots - he’s going to thrive - easy dunks - easy assists - easy buckets.

So far so good for them, I'm sure Wizards fans and Front office are happy with them.
Combined averages of 45 pts, 24 Rebs with a 4 wins and 1 loss start.

I watched most of the back to back Boston games. Kuz is playing hard on both ends and is doing what's needed. They don't have a lot of rebounding in the starting lineup so he's jumping in there with a lot of effort.
KCP looks about the same.... hot... then not. He is getting wide open looks with Beal on the floor however.
That team if fun to watch and they really move the ball.
