A shooter we could use at 40% from three. I do however think he'll give up more than he'll score on more occasions than not, but I guess we'll see.

I love this, if he gets in shape and keeps up the shooting numbers from his Portland stint he'll be a great 1yr deal for us.

Scoring or shot creation will not be a problem for this team. Hopefully Vogel can work his defensive magic with this squad! If he does, oh boy!

Melo better hustle on defense, otherwise bench his ass for a hungry Gleague player.

He's getting older and slower, so he's not gonna be that efficient. He better leave his prima donna hood behind him.

Not surprised but I'll be happy if he would play here like he did in Portland.

I feel an instant celebrity slump coming on for Melo playing in LA... Hopefully crazy ass Howard rubs off on him and he gets in the gym...

lakers will have a revolving 4th star like they did back when they only had a big 2. between melo, nunn, monk, baze, and tht. thats some healthy competition

Not that there are a whole lot of young stars to learn from them on the team, but there's a real educational dynamic on the Lakers right now, for a younger potential star in this league...
LeBron - A guy who was so gifted naturally, he almost couldn't lose... But he also surrounded himself with advisors who protected his interests and built his brand. The Pinnacle of the Player Power movement.
AD - Youngish guy who was also supremely gifted, but also less demanding and more coachable... More of a follower, but a good example of what it takes to repeat as a champion... Because he clearly is having to learn it now.
Westbrook - A supreme competitor who was gifted but not to the level of an AD or a LeBron... A fighter, and a guy who tried to carry a team by himself as maybe a top 5 player in the league, but learned he couldn't.
Melo - Supremely gifted, and skilled, but not as driven as the other stars... He always seemed to think he could get to the top of the heap without going crazy about it like Kobe, KG, PP... But didn't really figure out until he was in solid decline, that it wasn't going to happen unless he humbled himself a bit and put in work... An example of the traps of going full-celebrity, when you ain't a champion.
Dwight - Similar to Melo... A guy who was the golden child of the league, but couldn't reconcile the balance between being liked and being a champion... Paper thin skin... And basically a guy who **** on the very team that gave him his second chance and a ring... Now he's got some demons at his heals and it's made him a little nutty, but for the first time in his career, he has a place...
Dudley - A quintessential journeyman... The guy who's watched all the other guys, and was smart enough to pick up on what not to do, and is willing and eager to share what he's learned with those coming up.

The Lakers are basically the Ivy League for Young NBA stars... Too bad we don't have more of them to teach.
