any legs to a THT for Bamba + Ross package? dont think there is a way to make the money work but could be a useful trade...is Ross 30 or older than that?

Not enough salary going out for Ross+Bamba

Lakers can only bring in 25% more salary than they send out.

yeah I thought so...those two guys would look good in purple and gold

Yeah, send Davis out. In fact, Davis should be on the trade block if the Lakers are serious about winning another championship. Numbers mean nothing when you’re always injured and it seems to never really translate to winning.

Two of my forward trade target : Josh Jackson and Cam Reddish

Who do you value higher / fitting the current lakers team better?

Who on our team are you willing to give up for them respectively value-to-the-team wise, rather than contract value wise?

Or do you have any other better option in mind?

Notable options at the forward position: Lance Stephenson

Trade THT, DJ and Bazemore to Atlanta for Reddish and Wright.

Why for Lakers?

1. With Monk (smallish) likely to remain as the Lakers starting SG for the remainder of the season, and Westbrook (lackluster defense) basically being untradeable, it is imperative that the Lakers have a bigger player at SF, who can defend and shoot. There just are not that many players that fit this criteria that are available, but Reddish is one of them.

2. Lakers save 4 million for 2022 offseason. Reddish set to make 6 million, while THT set for 10 million. Lakers could use all the savings they could get, if they want to try and keep Monk. Delon Wright is expiring.

3. Lakers, who are pinching pennies right now, save 1.3 million off of this years payroll.

4. Lakers want to trade DJ and Bazemore to create roster spots for buyout market. This trade rids them of both players AND creates one roster spot. In addition, Wright is a functional back up PG that could help.

5. Lakers have several smallish SGs in Monk, Bradley, Ellington, and THT. This trade helps relieve a log jam there and adds a player that is more 3-4 than 1-2.

Why for Hawks?

1. THT has the higher upside of all players involved in this trade.

2. THT can help Young with ball handling duties. Upgrade over Wright at back up PG.

3. THT more cost controlled. Approx. 10 million per year for 3 years. Pretty good value. Hawks have logjam at the wing and could be in jeopardy of loosing Reddish.

4. THT's ability to attack the basket better compliments the perimeter oriented Young, Bogdonovic, Bradley, Hunter, Gallo, etc.

5. Hawks could use a deal to help shake things up.

This could also be a three team type deal with Detroit. Grant could end up in ATL, THT in Detroit, and Reddish in L.A.

Is there a way to structure a deal with Smart/filler to Atlanta, Reddish to LA, and THT/Bogdanovic to Boston?

I'm sure there is a way but why would Atlanta give up Bogdanovic and Reddish and only get Smart in return?
I think their team becomes significantly worse with this trade.

And why would LA facilitate a trade for BOS to get both THT and Bogdanovic?

LAL/BOS traded are rare, but they do happen from time to time. Yeah, maybe that's a bit much for Atlanta to be giving up for Smart. I think there could be a possibility there though, with maybe Boston taking back less. Like maybe one of Bogdon or THT.

^ Side note: Both THT and Reddish are Rich Paul clients. So, it could be a case of the Lakers trading THT and there is no harm/no foul in terms of their relationship with Clutch, since the Lakers would be receiving another Rich Paul client.

If we're giving up THT, I'd rather go after Jerami Grant.

Motive with Bogdan is Atlanta wanting out of his money.

Yeah. I can see them needing to dump salary specially with Trae's max contract kicking.
BOS though will need to give up more to get both Bogdanovic and THT (picks or players like Nesmith or Pritchard)

Grant is a good option too. Would you do this Reddish deal if Grant is not available?

Lakers trade THT, Nunn, Jordan, and Bazemore to Atlanta for Reddish, Wright, and Williams.

Lakers get under the luxury tax for the 2022-2023 season. This gives them the ability to utilize the full-mid level exceptions instead of the tax-payer mid-level exception, which could be used to sign Monk.

I'd do that trade.

Need to find a way to trade everyone ...

Find a way to get Tatum to our team and build around him :)
Get younger, not older.

What are some of the worst contacts in the NBA? Seeing what we can get for Westbrook. This has been an awful experience with him.

Fultz is owed 16.5 million this season and 16.5 million next season. He is out for the season and is pretty much a bad contract. Gary Harris is a big expiring. I would try Westbrook for Harris and Fultz.

All these trade ideas mean nothing if Russ is on the roster. He has to go period or not play like an season ending injury which just screams to how bad this guy is.
