If we come up with a better offer than New Orleans, they would have. They wouldn't want to but they are not going to pass up on good deals just to spite us, not unless their GM wants to get fired lol

LAL doesn’t have the assets.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Looking like trade deadline will likely pass by without any movement from us.

Anything that happens now is probably no longer an idea and needs it's own thread anyway... I'll open this back up and rename it the WTF Trade Deadline thread if we don't do anything...

Well Bill Orem says we couldn't get anything done...

This season has to be one of the most completely embarrassing seasons in Lakers history...

Linda Rambis woke up and her astrology reading said no changes. Rob had to put on his chastity belt and hide in the closet.

Yeah.. I’m not watching the rest of the season unless they start winning consistently. Can’t believe I’m saying that. This team is absolutely horrible for my mindset. I don’t enjoy the team in the slightest.

I'm not sure I can take much more of "We can't get there" LeBron this season... I know I can't take Westbrook... I'm on the fence about AD...
I would 'shut LeBron Down' unless we start winning... I would fire the entire coaching and FO staff... And I would roll with AD/THT/Monk/Johnson/reaves as our lineup... Ariza, Howard, Bradley, Ellington, can be our bench... Let the rest go home...

True test of the season is not gonna to be fun for Westbrook if he continues to suck at the level he is now. The fans have already turned on him and it’s only going to get worse when all the ire of lack of trades comes out and lands on him.

This! For the first time ever I am considering picking a different organization. This is just hard.

It’s a good thing we didn’t make moves. Don’t need even more Westbrook like moves. This team is dumb

The team will be better without the fear of being traded hanging over their heads.

That's one positive

Why would you fear of getting traded though?

Was there really ever any fear? It wasn’t like what lonzo, Ingram, and kuzma went through. Not trying to be negative but I don’t see how anything changes at all.

May have been a blessing in disguise that Rob didn't make any trades. After that Schroder and Westbrook trade i'm not sure I want this guy making another trade. I've said it before and i'll say it again... best to blow up this team. New GM who then picks his coach, then rebuild the team to his liking. Trade AD, Bron (if he wants out), Westbrook, etc. Our title window is all but closed shut. Please for the love of god do not build around AD.

 C'mon Zimpy27. Better without the fear?? Why would you not want to be traded away from this team. This is a sinking ship.

This would've been real funny until I realized this might actually be how the Lakers FO operate lol

Also, I think this is proof that the Lakers never intended to bring back Caruso.. and Westbrook wasn't the reason he was not re-signed.

No trade was done to get rid of the vet min guys. So if Lakers are looking to the buyout market then they are going to be adding additional money to their accounts. Caruso only wanted $1.5m more per year than Lakers offered and to be given more than 2 years. The Westbrook deal and the THT deal had nothing to do with it.
