Thats a short recovery time IMHO. My guess is that it's 5-6 weeks and he's not the same for 8-10.

Of course AD just stands there as a guy falls into his legs.

I know you could say I'm being unfair. But he really is very slow footed.

A prime Shaq for example, just moves out of the way and knows how to avoid an injury there.

But not the scarecrow AD. His feet are stuck in cement as a player comes barreling into his legs.

AD should really take this opportunity to lose some weight

dude packed it on to play center and it's clear his agility has taken a bigger hit

Dude hasn’t been the same since he was rushed back on short turnaround from the bubble.

“At Least” 4 weeks., last season missed 30 games, teased us with his dominant games versus Phoenix then boom.
Signing that Max contract by a 27 year old wio just won a ring made sense now, instead of just signing a 1 plus 1 and see if Lebron’s body would hold up.
For me, it just seems like he has this little tears inside his body that gets bigger after playing 15+ games esp if he gets hit by huge centers inside. Made sense when he settles for 18 footers instead of posting up or attacking the basket

Considering the Lakers 3 peat Shaq famously took 1 to 2 months off every regular season for suspect injuries, this is a pretty funny comparison.

I don’t think he should or will be playing until after the ASB.

Ppl keep saying this but i dont rly see it tbh..maybe broader shoulders but he looks relatively the same...its more mental where he seems off from bubble AD

Meh, negligible gains at best. He’s definitely a bit more defined, but people are making it seems as if he skipped a weight class.

Apples to oranges

Maybe Shaq was a bad example, because he was obviously a far superior athlete to AD.

But either way, the eye test tells me AD is slow and seems to always find himself in harms way.

He needs to do this. Rehab work and other than that - stay out of the gym. You can lose muscle mass very quickly by staying out of the gym and he needs to do that.

The average time missed for this injury is around 22 games. That puts him back around February 5th at home against the Knicks on a Saturday night game. He needs to get rid of some muscle mass, find that love/energy/passion for the game again, find his shot and come back and dominate. Because after the All Star Break, this team has to finish with a crazy run.

The secret is out… players are throwing their bodies (flopping, fake tripping and slipping) towards AD’s lower body and there is a good chance to take him out of the game. What AD needs to start doing when he’s back to playing is to use his hands and legs more effectively to defend himself, e.g strongarm and/or get off his feet by jumping on any players coming at him low.

AD’s defense is going to be sorely missed.

Good thing that we signed IT. He’s a good defender.

Who fell on Davis' leg during the Suns game? what about when he missed 30 games last season? how did he missed the 2 games last week? It DOESN'T MATTER if other players fall on him or not, He is already feeling some kind of pain, the past 3 years now. :banghead:

True, the Suns’ series was a non-contact groin injury and as well as the knee soreness that kept him out for 2 games. But what I am eluding to, and let me clarify, was the game against the Timberwolves. Both injuries came as a result of opposing players were crashing down underneath him. The first one where he tweaked his ankle could have been avoided if he got off his feet and just allow himself to fall on top of the downed player. The same thing could be said about the second injury, just strongarm or jump on the dude fallling towards him. If I am in the Lakers’ brass, I would bring in The Worm Rodman to coach AD on how to be quick with your feet and learned how to use your body to fall on people. But yeah, it frustrating that AD is in his prime but can’t stay on the court.

Just because I saw this and hadn't seen it anywhere else... AD cleared to ramp up activity... Maybe return by the 21st...

Vogel offered a much-anticipated update on Anthony Davis, who was evaluated Monday night.

“Everything looked clean on the MRI and the checkup with doctors, so he’s been cleared for an on-court ramp-up with contact,” Vogel said. “That doesn’t mean we’ll have a timeline. There’s still a reconditioning and ramp-up of work involved.”
