I am more than a little confused by Malik Monk's situation. (He is probably both confused and frustrated: https://clutchpoints.com/lakers-news-malik-monk-2-word-tweet-after-re-entering-health-and-safety-protocols/) He entered the "health and safety protocols" on December 14. It has now been ten days, so presumably he will be available for Sunday's game against Brooklyn, should that even take place. In the meantime, he was cleared to fly to Minneapolis with the team, then placed in protocols again. It appears he had not one but two false negative tests.

Or perhaps he contracted Covid-19 on the way to Minneapolis? The omicron variant, I have read, can go from untraceable to positive in a matter of hours. That would mean that, since he entered protocols a second time on December 16, his ten days would not be up until December 26. Meanwhile, it appears he is stuck in Minneapolis, a lovely city, but not necessarily where one would want to be for Christmas. The Lakers really need his shooting and playmaking on the court against any and all comers.

By the way, the major media have this game starting at 7:30 PST, not 7:00.

Pop would love to hang an L on us the last game in "Staples". Unfortunately, that's not a hard thing to do. Lethargic play, no recognition in the team defense sets and no one wants to work for a rebound. A bunch of Alphas with a lot of minutes on the odometer with marginal NBA talent mixed in.
