Re: Keeping Stanley Johnson & Darren Collison
We currently watching Grizzlies game as I type this...
Stanley Johnson is great defender and better then THT IMO ...
Maybe it's just a couple games I've seen so far
Offense he needs to slow down as he way too quick for his own good

Keep team both. Real good additions. Cut THT's minutes along with Mel00000000000000000 completely.

Re: Keeping Stanley Johnson & Darren Collison
I was impressed with Johnson last night. Of all the short-term signings and two-way players, he looks the best. He was -18 last night, but the entire bench once again let down the starters, so the blame does not fall on his shoulders alone.
Sekou Doubouya looked great in his first game, and is worth another look.

Re: Keeping Stanley Johnson & Darren Collison
Collison is real bad right now, but they should keep him around and let him work out and practice to try to get back into shape and see if he can shake off the rust. It might be wishful thinking, but if he can return to close to his old form by the end of the season he could really help them in the playoffs. I wouldn't expect him to, but there is quite a bit of upside so its better than keeping around guys like Bazemore who you know can't help you.

Well after the Rondo trade I think we'll keep Collison.

Stupid to get rid of Rondo. Why not keep him and not sign Collison? Watch him do it again in the playoffs.
I’m personally thrilled that Stanley Johnson is a Laker. My kind of player. He’s got dawg.

It would've been difficult to even get Rindo in the rotation for the playoffs for him to prove himself.
Signing a player like Johnson was long overdue. Why did it take 40% of league catching Omnicron for the GM to fill an obvious need?

Agreed.
Rondo will not have to do much to earn minutes in the post season. Every coach knows his value when it matters.

So Darren is getting the boot? I thought he looked like he might be useful based on his IQ alone

Re: Keeping Stanley Johnson & Darren Collison
I am probably the only one here who has yet to join the new Stanley Johnson Fan's club
Yes, he brings energy and seems to have that good defensive instincts. I don't think he is a horrible player, even though 29 other teams have chosen not to sign him, but I'm not sure that he can give more than what other current players are offering.
He is listed at 6-6, not 6-9 who can rotate and cover Centers and PFs.
He is a terrible shooter/floor spacer. Currently shooting 25% from 3, with a career 29.7% which is a horrible fit esp next to a non shooter like Westbrook. Both of their defenders would simply sag down and clog the driving lanes for Lebron and other cutters.
How much better is his defense as compared to Avery Bradley? Is he so much better than Austin Reaves? really?
Bradley is currently shooting 39% from 3, while Austin is at 37.8%

More likely the Lakers are exploring trades to move Jordan and/or Bazemore
We just don't know about their activities behind the scenes

Hopefully.
I'm keen on a THT+Bazemore+Jordan for Favors+Kenrich trade.

Cranjis likes Muscala over Favors
Of course this is if OKC thinks they can turn THT into gold

Muscala is good too but Favors I feel is more solid and more experienced as a starter in this league. He's a top 10 impact rebounder.
Either way though. Kenrich is the main piece. I think Lakers have to give picks if they don't take Favors back.

Great. So they might open the path for Collison and a buyout guy or even an upgrade like Kenrich.
Are there any buyout options this year?

Thaddeus Young seems to be the one prime buyout candidate everyone is gunning for.
Dragic is another if a trade can't be found

Re: Keeping Stanley Johnson & Darren Collison
After last night, you have to keep Stanley Johnson. He has everything this team needs in a wing. Currently, his net rating is 1.6, good for third on the team, behind Reaves (8.4) and Monk (4.2). Not coincidentally, those three guys were on the floor, together with Horton-Tucker (-2.8), during the comeback against the Jazz. His TS%, 62.9, is just ahead of Lebron James, at 61.7, and Malik Monk, 60.9.
