So it’s not that much lower than other starting PGs in their 30s like Lowry, Lillard, Beverley and CP3.

Except they have established themselves as good 3 pt shooters in their careers and while having some shooting struggles are still above 32%. Westbrooks never been a great 3 pt shooter and him taking bad 3's when his teammates brought him back? Just shows the lack of emotional maturity he's got and why it matters

He's an expiring in the summer. He's addition by substraction at this point. If we can't find any kind of deal in the summer for ANYTHING, we need to buyout his ass.

He simply cannot be on the opening day roster for next year.

THT can be officially traded in two days so we're definitely changing something, but finding a deal for Westbrook is damn near impossible.

He’s got 40+ mil to take home next year. That’ll be a hard buyout to negotiate.

I don’t think the difference between 30% and 32% is as big as you think it is. And how they’ve shot for their career is irrelevant, we’re talking about this season.

But yes I do agree I think Russ shouldn’t be the guy to take big 3s at the end of games since that’s not his game. I just thought it’s funny that media loves to talk about Westbrook’s 3pt shooting for this season while other guys like the ones I mentioned aren’t really any better yet don’t hear much about their 3pt shooting.

Missing 8 FT's and chucking 47 3's is not a winning strategy. The focus on shooting 35% shots is a primary reason the NBA is becoming unwatchable. We led the league in points in the paint the year we won it. Not a coincidence either.

It was not lost on Frank Vogel, at least:

I feel like we were leaving teammates on an island and against a quick, attacking team like this, you have to show a presence. They have to see five defenders and I thought there were too many situations where we didn’t do that tonight.”>

2 years is a major difference for Lebron who understandably is taking more perimeter shots, having a healthy and driven AD and DH and JMG getting easy lob dunks helped them before. It’s not helping when Westbrook is having his worst % from 0-3 feet too.
No AD, playing small ball with Monk, AB, Melo being ultra aggressive launching those 3’s etc, trying open up those driving lanes for Russ and Lebron seems like Vogel’s strategy. Their “help defense” or lack there off is not helping, almost like praying that opponents would just have off shooting nights.

TERRIBLE game by the Lakers. This team lacks any focus. Everytime they had a big lead they gave it right back.

I get Vogel is fixated on the help defense, but he’s running some REALLY small lineups out there. Lebron-Ariza (or Johnson)- Monk- Bradley- Westbrook is just too small and teams are killing the Lakers’ defense inside.
Numbers rule the universe.

And you think that's his choice?

realpolitik: [noun] politics based on practical and material factors rather than on theoretical or ethical objectives.

You can lol all you want, but when an owner signs a 40+ mil player......do I need to spell it out for you?
