Hard as it is to say: We sucked this year, and so the Celtics are gonna do what the Celtics are gonna do. And there ain't nothing we're gonna do but watch.

I'm rooting for GS, but they need to go play their own thing, and play for their own reasons. We got nothing to do with this, as we couldn't get our **** together enough to even make the playoffs. It's my personal opinion that Curry is quite overrated, and when the going get tough, the Warriors tend to shrink. I won't be surprised if they lose this. They are only slight favorites. I have yet to see Curry carry the team and rescue them from the jaws of defeat. It's usually front-running. There's alot more "dog" in Boston.

ps....Curry is an amazing shooter. He's a great player. But yeah....I hear him compared to Lebron, and I laugh. I'd take next season's Lebron over Curry...sorry. People complain Curry wasn't in the top-10 all time. I doubt I put him in the top 30. Not with that D. And not until he goes and "takes" a title. Klay is one of my fave current players...but same to him. Those 2 guys need to go beat a "better team" sometime. The splash show is fun, but man do they shrink when it gets ugly and hard. Where would that "dynasty" be without Durant and the video-game team they had? Still at 1?

No...the Warriors need to fight back and win a title they might even be expected to lose, at this point. They need to do it for themselves, and their legacy. If the Lakers don't wanna be second-fiddle again....then do a better job constructing a team.

Am I the only one who doesn’t care who wins? I’m a basketball fan and I just want some good and competitive basketball. 99% of Celtics championships were from 2000 bc plus their best player Tatum literally has a man crush on Kobe.

No, I'm with you... But I'm having trouble deciding if I care about the Lakers next season either... So take it for what it's worth...

I rather have build up a worthy opponent to compete against in trying to get even again in championship numbers. Rather than hoping they lose to keep them below us. Nah. Not me.

Half of the Celtic’s rings are from when the league had only eight teams and all players were white. 17 rings my ass.

Why does “Klay Thompson’s father” not call the Celtics’ false “winningest franchise” claim what it is? Pre-historic BS numbers that are irrelevant.

I certainly don’t count the pre-NBA/ABA merger rings when comparing NBA teams and neither should anyone else, IMO. It could be argued that it’s both stupid and misleading to do so.

Edit: Of the Keltic’s 17 rings, 12 came before the merger in 1976. Of the Lakers 17 rings, only six came before 1976. The way I see it, we have 11, they have 5. If we’re counting NBA rings and not ABA/NBA or BAA/NBA, that is.

DISAPPOINTED in MT for fueling that dumb argument.
Rings since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

While an adequate role player for us he never approached his play for Portland in P&G. I preferred McAdoo in the "change of pace" back up role to Kareem. Never hated him by any stretch.... he was a solid role player who dealt with injury every year it seemed... never missed a ton of games but always banged up.

The only dumb argument here is yours. I've apparently been a fan since before you were born and the games and championships of my childhood count the same as yours. So put on your big boy pants and stop whining the score is 17 to 17.

I agree, but at the same time, the first 11 celtics championships were about like 1992 Team USA against the world...

They beat the Lakers 7 times in that stretch, not Angola.

First of all, I loved when we got Klay’s dad  on the Lakers back in the mid 80’s.
He was the perfect back up to Kareem, rebounded very well and played solid D. His offense was not as showcased or needed on the Lakeshow as it was when he was in POR but that didn’t matter. He was a fighter and bled P&G when on the Lakers, and a perfect compliment to a relatively finesse team which had Magic and Worthy and Kareem.

I totally agree with him too that we don’t want BOS to get 18 before we do. Of course we don’t have any control over that. But heck yeah, I want GSW to win this.

Although the bulk of the titles that the Lakers have won have come in the modern era of basketball (as opposed to the C’s), I respect the fact that they have 17 titles , just like we do.
