LeBron wants to own a team in Vegas...

Told y'all...

Kilroy wrote:I'm fairly certain LeBron and Klutch are just biding their time until they open that expansion team in Vegas, and they'll step up and try to own it. Then he can draft Bronny...

On a related note... LeBron's been dropping subtle hints lately about players he'd love to play with... I'm starting to wonder if maybe he's looking for a way out this season...

In any event, how focused on getting the Lakers to the Championship this season, does he sound? New Billionaire talking about buying an expansion team in Vegas...
Methinks we can forget about extension talks...

And what's a guy like AD thinking right now? Take it easy, play out LeBron's last season, and try to follow him?

A smart owner with some balls, would be working the hell out of the phones right now... Dude said he wanted to play with Curry, maybe you can make that happen for him and remove the distraction in the process...

Are the Warriors willing to do a trade centered around LeBron and Klay?

LOL I'd do a Lebron for Klay straight up

Edit: He might want to play with Curry ... But Curry don't want to play with Bron = smart man

This is exactly why we should drop any false notions of contending for the title this season and forget about how things will look to other FAs. Trade both and get the best return on assets before the two do something like this and walk, leaving us in the lurch with nothing. It's a lesson we should have learned from Shaq.

In this draft, I'd really like to obtain: #4 (pick Shaedon Sharpe) and #7 (pick Dyson Daniels). Both have potential to be stars. So send Bron to Sacramento (or Phoenix in a 3-team trade), and send AD to Portland. These teams give them fair shots at playoff contention... and I'd not even ask for any players in the trade that they need to contend. Let it be a win-win scenario.

Lebron for #4 + future 1st (?) + filler they don't need to contend
AD for Simons + #7 + Keon + filler they don't need to contend

Simons (+ Reaves)
Sharpe (+ Keon)
Daniels
Need new 3&D PF
Need new Center (+ Jericho Sims)

All that filler can be turned into future picks too. Then get in touch with Lavar, so Lamelo doesn't sign his extension and joins here as a free agent down the line. By then we'll know which of Simons or Sharpe to continue building around at the Guard spot.

I think both Portland and Sac would do that. Hell......Sacramento would sell one of their nuts to get a guy of Lebron's fame in their Jersey.....even if only for a season. Portland needs to do something to keep Dame from leaving. AD won't be that guy, but he will certainly SEEM like that guy. Dame will love it (until he's on the floor by himself half the season), as he and AD will talk themselves into how this is gonna be crazy good. Much like Russ did with Lebron and AD.

I'm curious what manner of garbage we end up with....but I make that trade, and I think they do too. I think both teams have some space....so a S&T could actually work too. Maybe we walk away with something semi-decent even! God, I wanna see Lebron's face when he finds out he's been traded to Sacramento.

Not sure I want to deal with the Balls again. Lamelo is a great player....but if we gotta go through Lavar, then I'm good.

How do we get rid of the brick-monster?

̱Hopefully he won't pick up his PO seeing this new direction we'll be taking. If he does take it up, I'd keep him away from everything so he doesn't influence the young guys in any way... and try to trade him at the deadline as an expiring for assets.

Well, that's the hope behind the suggestion. :P

This would be a bonus, haha. It is closer to his family than other teams though, so it's not all bad. And he has the chance to do some good things there with Fox + Sabonis + Barnes + DDV.

I'd trade him in a second.... and Davis minutes later. Ownership lives off the team and doesn't want to be irrelevant for 3 years at least.

I like the framework of both of those trades. I’ve been saying for a while now we should start the rebuilding process as I believe the AD-Bron window is closed. I’d much rather start the rebuild a year too early than a year too late. Of course this is all moot since the front office has shown no desire to rebuild.

That’s the thing though… it’s not like their pocket book would take a hit in the event we suck. It may actually be the opposite, at least in the short run when we’d presumably shed payroll.

Yeah, I think the notion the Lakers FO are cheap because they live off the team and are afraid of losing money is kind of flawed... I'm pretty sure the Lakers are profitable even when they suck... They're still front page news, and they have massive media deals.

I also think the owners collective net worth is probably under-estimated and there are also a lot of them, which dilutes the estimation to some degree...

On top of that, I don't believe the narrative that Caruso for example wasn't retained because they were trying to limit salary. I think he wasn't retained because Klutch didn't want him retained, or rather wanted someone else more... This FO is going to fall on the sword for Klutch time every time... That's the agreement.

I’ve always thought the Las Vegas Clippers sounds good. Do it, Bron. Ballmer would let you own half, and we could build a new team free from such a dominating Klutch influence.

This guy needs to get his self entitlement in check. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. If I were paid $40+ per year, and had a year or three left in the tank, I’d focus on that. Talk is cheap and is better done in hindsight.

The Clippers should have either stayed in Buffalo, San Diego or possibly even moved to Orange County (Anaheim).

Unfortunately, now that they have an unlimited budget with Balmer's deep pockets, the Clippers are in the process of taking over the whole Southern California NBA marketplace.

The new Clipper arena, "Intuit Dome," will be impressive, built for a superior fan experience and for a true home-court advantage (the "wall" area behind a visiting team's bench is ingenious).

If LeBron does purchase the Lakers and move the franchise to Las Vegas, it will be Maverick Carter, a huge upgrade over the Buss people, who will lead the franchise. It almost seems like Jeanie has some sort-of "deal already-in-place" with LeBron and his Klutch team about a future Laker franchise purchase transaction. Otherwise, unless she only cares about seeing the all-time NBA scoring title broken by a player wearing a Laker uniform, why wouldn't she empower Pelinka to trade LeBron and immediately start the rebuilding process?

where do you come up with these viewpoints? You must live outside of the US or something. Just like the mets and yankees lakers over clips is a culture. Ballz can't do anything about that. Bron has 0 chance of buying and moving the lakers.

He does this all the time. My guess is he's a trolling clipper fan. That, or he lives nowhere near LA, which makes it very strange that he would care.

Outside longshot: He's actually Ballz trying some "grassroots" thing.

Either way....it's annoying, but sort of enjoyable. Every time things look really bleak......this guy turns up, and remind me that the clippers are a thing. That always puts a bad day in perspective. That, and he wants to build around Westbrook (he's convinced Phil wants that). That's entertainment enough.

But hey...it's his right. I find it entertaining, but the guy has as much right to post his views as I do. And hell, what do I know? Maybe someday he'll turn out to be right.

(would be awesome if he actually was Ballz doin the grassroots thing)
