In any event, how focused on getting the Lakers to the Championship this season, does he sound? New Billionaire talking about buying an expansion team in Vegas...
Methinks we can forget about extension talks...
And what's a guy like AD thinking right now? Take it easy, play out LeBron's last season, and try to follow him?
A smart owner with some balls, would be working the hell out of the phones right now... Dude said he wanted to play with Curry, maybe you can make that happen for him and remove the distraction in the process...
This is exactly why we should drop any false notions of contending for the title this season and forget about how things will look to other FAs. Trade both and get the best return on assets before the two do something like this and walk, leaving us in the lurch with nothing. It's a lesson we should have learned from Shaq.
In this draft, I'd really like to obtain: #4 (pick Shaedon Sharpe) and #7 (pick Dyson Daniels). Both have potential to be stars. So send Bron to Sacramento (or Phoenix in a 3-team trade), and send AD to Portland. These teams give them fair shots at playoff contention... and I'd not even ask for any players in the trade that they need to contend. Let it be a win-win scenario.
Lebron for #4 + future 1st (?) + filler they don't need to contend
AD for Simons + #7 + Keon + filler they don't need to contend
Simons (+ Reaves)
Sharpe (+ Keon)
Daniels
Need new 3&D PF
Need new Center (+ Jericho Sims)
All that filler can be turned into future picks too. Then get in touch with Lavar, so Lamelo doesn't sign his extension and joins here as a free agent down the line. By then we'll know which of Simons or Sharpe to continue building around at the Guard spot.
