Re: We gon git Kyrie
If there is a superstar crazy enough to sign for the MLE, it would be Kyrie.

Re: We gon git Kyrie
But is this even realistic?
Kyrie could take the MLE, but he'd leave 25M on the table for next season and i'm not sure if it would be possible for him to make it up on his next deal, although i might be wrong.
I suppose a re-sign/t is another option, but they wouldn't want Westbrook (for many different reasons) and then it would be Nunn, THT etc. which would make it possible to get to about 20M. Closer, but still not realistic.
I mean, what's the realistic play here (other than Kyrie actually being crazy enough to take 6M)?
I think he's ending with the Clippers for some weak package of RoCo, Kennard, picks or something. And i look forward to seing him and Kawhi trying to best each other in being absolutely **** insane.

Yeah, I'll take him for $6. I mean, you can't pass on that. He'd be playing for a new contract, so prob get decent behavior. At least 50 games. But you'll need to get rid of Westbrook. Those two on the same team??? Hell no. You can only ask so much from a coach.

Are y'all slow?!
Or am I stupid!?
I'm reading this as he will opt-in to his 37 million dollar expiring to expedite a trade.
Why are people talking about him taking 6 million?
What am I missing?

Likely Kevin Love too if he gets bought out. Mike Brown is probably mad he took the kings job now because we are about to be the Los Angeles Cavaliers with AD.

Yeah idk why this is being mentioned either. It’s abundantly clear that if Kyrie goes to a new team, it will be by opting in and getting traded. Kyrie opts into his $37 million with the understanding we’ll extend him (just like CP3 did in 2017 before getting traded to the Rockets), Brooklyn sends Kyrie to us, we send Russ to some third team and they send players to Brooklyn. Seems to make the most sense for Charlotte to take Russ and send Brooklyn the Rozier/Hayward package that’s been discussed for Russ. But that’s only if Brooklyn thinks Durant will stay.

Re: We gon git Kyrie
Doesn't Westbrook have to opt in then get traded so we can involve a third team to send him too? Or hope Irving is not in his right mind and let , what 30 mil and walk away
How's this for an almost unbelievable Laker trivia: The Lakers will miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd time since 1976.
Just 3 times in almost 40 years!!!!

Slava is correct with the above post.
Also, why would LeBron want Kyrie on the Laker roster, especially after Kyrie had left LeBron "high-and-dry" when they had played together in Cleveland?
If the Lakers are going to keep the core of LeBron-AD-Westbrook, then would it not make more sense for Pelinka to try to acquire athletic wing players who can both defend the perimeter as well as shoot three-point shots?
Lastly, why would the Nets agree to a trade with the Lakers where the Nets would take back Westbrook for Kyrie? Would KD be OK with reuniting with Westbrook? Also, if the Lakers were to trade AD, would it not make more sense to trade AD to the Wizards for Bradley Beal than to the Nets for Kyrie?

So what your hearing out there is contingent on Kyrie up and walking. No trade. Nothing the Nets can do. He'd have to come here for $6mil. I have a feeling that can be improved a little, but we'll see. I'm sure Westbrick and Durant have no interest in playing together again. I'm not sure about Lebron/Kyrie.
Kyrie would most definitely be a better fit on the floor with AD/Lebron. Ticks several boxes, and the defense is about the same. Our outside shooting, playmaking would go up.
I think this is a pipe-dream. Kyrie is an odd duck, and all that....but he's not walking from $30mil. This is just the NBA offseason throwing the Lakers into everything.
But if it DID happen.....Pelinka's gotta grab it. I mean whatever BS Kyrie does.....$6mil?? And he'll be playing to get a new contract again. Assuming no more Covid crap, I think Kyrie will behave as best that Kyrie can. And for $6mil, who cares if he goes off the reservation.....trade him, and prob could get a pick or two.

Kyrie Irving opts in to the last year of his contract at 37 mill then proceeds to be traded. That is what's being reported and that is what is most plausible, not the opting out, signing for 6 mill nonsense that has him leaving 31 mill on the table. Keep up.

Yeah, we all got that. But that's not the scenario where he becomes a Laker.

Because people are programmed by what they see and hear on television. On Monday, when Fox and ESPN are talking about the opt-in and trade scenario, no one here will talk about Kyrie taking 6 mill anymore.

Sounds like a you problem. Life is too short to hate a man you've never met. Go outside and ride a bike to the beach.
