LeBron and Davis are starting.

This poll is for you to select the other 3 starters that you think should start alongside Lebron and Davis.

Patrick Beverly at 1 because Westbrook is a bad fit, I don't like Dennis and I'm considering Nunn but he didn't play last season due to injury so I wonder if he is still the same Nunn that I saw in Miami.

Austin Reaves at 2 because I like how he plays. He's my favorite Laker right now.

Bryant and Jones is a toss up but I'll go with Bryant for now at 5. I don't want AD to play 5 so I'm starting Bryant.

You should probably add another option in the poll… ‘doesn’t matter. We’ll be in the lottery again.’

Anyway on a more serious note — pick two of the midgets. I’d guess Bev and Nunn while using Bryant at the C.

Does it really matter? We're going to run the same "Bronfense"..... except now with an aging LeBron and no real presence in the paint. Will Westbrook come off the bench seems to be the real aim of this thread. My guess is no.

Day after day, I don't understand the Walker signing, unless he was supposed to be trade aggregator or Nunn is cooked.

I voted Schroeder, Beverly, and Bryant. Curious to see what kind of defensive pressure that backcourt can put on opposing teams.

That being said, I have no issues with people pulling for Reaves.

Me, too. It just can’t have anything with team improvement to do, period. Walker is a Klutch client and a bust. Way overpaid. Pelinka and Rich Paul and LBJ all know it.

To Jeannie, LBJ is the first huge superstar signed under her helm, and it seems to me that Rich Paul abuses the fact that she’s trying to hold up her end.

I think Jeannie is currently more concerned with kum-ba-ya and status quo than actual winning. Not failing seems to be her prerogative. I get it. Dr Buss isn’t exactly an easy act to follow but I think she thinks that keeping LBJ and Rich Paul happy is more important than it is.

Someone should remind her that if we win more rings, making a profit is easy, and the superstars will flock.

I still assume Westbrook will be traded before season starts but I’m afraid Jeannie has looked at stats and thinks he’s our best player. She said as much a few weeks ago.

If I’m the coach, even if he’s not traded, Russ is riding the pine until the trade deadline. Unless he suddenly decides to play defense before retiring. Likely. You can’t get paid $47M and play only half the time you’re on the court. Not here.

Lakeshow Baby...

Nunn and Beverley are the best shooters on the team (other than Swider). One of them must start. I lean more toward Nunn because he is better suited offensively to be a third scorer than Beverley. Beverley, I prefer as a backup so the Lakers can always have at least one shooter on the floor at all times. They can also finish games together, no problem.

Reaves and Schroder should platoon at the other guard spot because they both offer defense and shot-creation without consistent jump-shooting. They shouldn't play together much at all because of their inconsistent shooting. I lean toward Reaves as the starter because I think the Lakers shouldn't start the game small (with a Schroder/Nunn backcourt).

In the frontcourt, I'm a huge proponent of not only Davis at center, but also James playing alongside another forward that will lighten his defensive load, essentially guarding the guys at SF or PF who James cannot or will not guard effectively. This guy, to me, is Troy Brown Jr. He should be the frontcourt starter next to Davis and James. You can call him a SF or a PF (a position he's not foreign to playing in the league); it doesn't really matter, because he can effectively guard both.

PG - Reaves - Schroder/(Nunn)
SG - Nunn - Beverley
C - Davis - Bryant
PF - Brown - (James)/(Davis)/Anderson
SF - James - Westbrook

Walker has zero place in the regular rotation.

Beverley, Reaves, Bryant.

Westbrook in street clothes or sitting at home.

Nunn, Beverley, Bryant... I think Jones and Bryant are basically a toss-up and we'll have to see who works better with AD, but I like Bryant's size and shooting...
Either Nunn is in the running for our 3rd best player this season, or his career is basically over... So I'm optimistic he'll be really good and a clear starter...
Beverley has to start... He doesn't have to get a ton of minutes but he needs to help set the tone for us on the defensive end...

There are a lot of unknowns on this roster though and a lot can happen... But none of it matters a whole lot if AD and LeBron don't come in fired up and focused this season.

This feels like an extremely underwhelming roster to me though... Unless some more major changes happen soon, it's kind of a hot mess...

I don't care that much on who should be starting but who are playing the bulk of the minutes and finishing.
A healthy AD and Bron for 30-32 minutes
Reaves, esp if hitting his shots 32 minutes.
Healthy Thomas Bryant playing good enough defense 28-30 minutes
Healthy Nunn playing good enough defense, hitting his 3's 28 mins
Beverley 24 minutes.
And Cole SWider, playing defense and hitting his 3's 26 minutes.
Those Klutch boys get garbage time and collect their paychecks.

Having Reaves In the starting lineup most of the seaason

Than In the Playoffs Or just b4 the playoffs - Insert Bev Into the line up for a change up - Kind of like Playoff Rondo Saving Bev for the playoffs would be huge.

Speaking about playoffs, really hope Lakers and Clippers first round match up- we've been wanting it for a while now.

If you have this version of Westbrook, put him on the court.

I’m with you on Beverly’s roll 100%. Have my doubts about Walker, think Reaves will kick his ass and start.

I heard from a wizards fan that Bryant’s defense is completely awful and he’s not as mobile anymore after his injury. He’ll potentially be a liability as a starter. I’d hate seeing him start against Jokic, Gilbert etc.

I hope for Huff to develop into our starting C but don’t know anything about his defensive prowess.

My guess is that Jones starts. His defense is somewhat reliable if I recall correctly.
