What’s at stake for Ham until the playoffs

From now until the post season, Ham has a shot to maybe keep his job.

If it continues the way it’s been, he’s gone. If they start playing defense better than 130 OPPG, maybe. I’m sorry but that’s necessary or he should be gone. 110, in today’s game, is where the Lakers should be.

I couldn’t figure out why they hired him, but maybe they knew we couldn’t compete this year and decided to hire him as a low risk move for a year in hopes to find a better one next summer (2023)?

I like Ham, the players seem to like him, but is he another offense only coach? It regret it if he is. He doesn’t seem that way. Coaches who coach one side of the ball never last.

Hmm. Suns, Nuggets, Mavericks, Clippers, Pelicans… We’ll need our defense to be not just good but totally freaking badass just to get to the second round.

So, what’s up? Will he be the fall guy for LBJ if we fail? If we make the WCF, does he stay? Is he fired if we are bounced in the second round? What do you think should happen?

Happy with Ham?

I would like another coach. Wished we had T Lue or even JKidd than Ham. But the org signed Ham to a 4 year deal. No way I can see Ham fired after this disapointing season.

It’s one thing to want him fired, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

But to think him being let go is actually a realistic scenario is to be detached from reality.

While I wasn’t a fan of his hiring, I do not believe one season is enough to evaluate Ham as a coach. So far I’m not impressed though.

I think it’s unlikely as well, but I do not think it’s that far fetched. Wasn’t Vogel let go one year after a championship and year after signing an extension? I know the situation is a bit different…

I was mostly curious to see where folks are on Ham but I realize I’m not realistic in expecting him gone even if he fumbles James’ two, three last years… I guess.

The offense is on point at times. The defense has been horrendous. That means no rings. Ever. That spells fired. It should.

If he deserves another year, or must stay, make him hire an assistant with actual title experience.
