Wow. Did we trade Pelinka for Morey before the week?

What a hell is this move. It don't make sense.

So it's:

outgoing: RW, Bev, Nunn, T.Bryant, 1st, 3 2nds

Turned into

Dlo, Beasley, Vanderbilt, Hachimura, Bamba, 3 2nds

I know complaining is our favorite thing to do as Laker fans, but that's impressive overall.

Bamba is useless the guy is so slow and a lot of time he is lost in the game. For Pat Bev he could have better players. He is the best defensive guard on the team.

As well as Bryant played for this team, I had massive concerns about his defense if this team were to make the playoffs. Those concerns aren’t nearly as big with Bamba and he also brings shooting.

weird move as a magic fan im glad bamba is gone tho he plays zero defense and barely will go after rebounds. great pairing with ad if you looking for the softest front court ever Bev could be good for Orlandos young guards. Bev has leadership imo and is familiar with the type of ball orando is going for and gives them identity

I’ve been a very harsh Pelinka critic… however, I’m quite impressed with his latest trades. It’s almost as if a completely different GM/President made these moves. Bamba is an excellent pickup.

Bryant is head and shoulders above bamba I dont get this lmao. maybe bamba wasn't motivated with Orlando. maybe lebron can light a fire under his. that is exactly what he needs

Apples and oranges. Is there a guy who actually gives a **** about defense in Orlando?

He has the tools and the intangibles(length and athleticism), he needs the motivation. He has it now, he didn't have it in Orlando with a gazillion bigs who needed playing time.

He's the backup 5, we're not expecting him to run the world. Just to play better D than Bryant did in the 10-15 mins he will get on the floor. That's literally the easiest job in the world.

Bamba has looked pretty pretty bad so far, but maybe a change of scenery can do something

Bamba is not a bad player. He’s a big who can shoot the 3 and blocks shots. He has the capability of having big nights.

I can only imagine that Orlando had zero interest in bringing him back next year. Obviously that 10m in cap space means more to us.

Bryant is a walking bucket but his defense is bad to the point that I think he would have been unplayable in the playoffs (if we can even make it). Bamba is a bad defender as well but he can at least occasionally block a shot here and there. He can also hit the three, which makes him a better fit next to Vanderbilt or Wenyen.

Essentially, swapping Bryant for Bamba is a slight downgrade in talent in exchange for a better fit.

Magic fan here. Bamba has had games where you see why he was drafted where he was. Then many more where you wonder how he was drafted where he was. When that 3 is flowing he's a very good floor spreader. He just isn't consistent when he's gotten minutes. A change of scenery could be just what he needs. It was just never gonna happen with us. He's not better the Wendell Carter or Mo Wagner so he couldn't get consistent minutes anymore. There's talent in there. If Lebron can't pull it out nobody can. As a back up I think he'll be fine. Best of luck

At least Ham can stop with these small guard line ups.

Bryant asked to be traded. this makes more sense. but should have been more aggressive and went after a solid rim protector 1 of less than ten in the league

That’s the problem with Mo though.

Getting him to try playing better D at a consistent level.

No doubt he is a good fit with Lebron, he’ll get open outside shots. But the guy is soft on offense, and tbh, as our starting C last year, he wasnt even the guy defending Embiid or Jokic. WCJ did.

I hope it pans out well for him in LA. Because motor has been the problem for him since his Texas days, not in Orlando.

It says a lot to have your position overtaken by Moe, with the e-nergy, Wagner a player familiar to the Lakers.

I'll take it. Are we better off today than we were yesterday? Yes. By how much? Well, we gonna figure it out here in a minute

Yeah, that appears to be the case. I still maintain there isn’t a huge drop from Bryant to Bamba though.
