So… what would you guys do with the FRP this upcoming draft? Use or trade it.

Personally i’d package it with Beasley and a couple more seconds and get a starting level shooting guard.

Would Denver take that for KCP

You don't trade a pick in the low to mid teens + a shooter like Beasley(albeit one who's struggling right now) for a player who has a limited value as it is and close to no upside going forward

If you do your homework well, you can get a 95% KCP value from a 19-20 year old guy from day one, with infinite more upside in the future.

Get someone who can actually shoot and defend. And KCP does that. If you think 18 year old #17/18 pick is gonna give you what KCP does right now you’re mistaken.

This team is win now. So trade whatever the **** needs traded and get pieces to win now. Trade this years pick for a starting SG. Trade the 29 pick and get a quality defensive minded point guard. Ideally Caruso.

Oh and we didn’t trade an unprotected pick. It was protected. And **** the picks. When did the Lakers last build through the draft? When AD and Bron leave they’ll be replaced by star free agents. Not draft picks.

And having KCP on this team would make it FAR more likely to win than Beasley does. KCP shoots better and defends FAR better. Good luck in the playoffs with a back court defence of DLo and Beasley.

Trent Jr at the deadline was the move that should have happened.

Trent caliber player is one thing.

Kentavious Caldwell Trash can is another.

Denver traded Will Barton for him to the Wizards, then Barton was bought out.That's how valuable he really is in this league. And you want a give up a pick in the teens for him.

You are the only delusional guy here. I didn't say don't trade the pick, but at least have the decency of thinking of a better deal. This deal is completely unrealistic from our part, it's a BAD DEAL.

A few more things

1. You don't build around 38 year old Lebron, period. The guy is not available enough anymore. If you trade the pick, you trade it for a guy reasonably young you can use post Lebron as well.

2. You do realize we got Davis for a package involving DRAFT PICKS? Both future picks and young players we drafted in the lottery.

The fact that you expect FA to fall from the sky just because we're the Lakers is plain dumb. How many top tier FA's have signed with us in the last 10 year, sans Lebron? I'm waiting...
And if you don't have assets you're not getting Davis' caliber players in trades either.

I'd accept the team option on Bamba and combine him with Max Christie, Davon Reed and the 1st round pick to get something juicy. Dorian Finney Smith would be a name I'd go after. Brooklyn will have to pay Cam Johnson.

- Re-sign D-Lo, 3 years + player option starting at $20M
- Decline team option on Beasley, re-sign for three year deal starting at $13M
- Re-sign Austin Reaves, 4 year deal starting at 11M (his max for next year)
- Accept team option on Jarred Vanderbilt, $4.7M (He'll be extension eligible, I'd look to sign him to an extension that wouldn't kick in until the following season)

Team salary:

LeBron: $46.7M
AD: $40.6M
Russell: $20M
Beasley: $13M
DFS: $13M
Reaves: $11M
Vanderbilt: $4.7M

Total: $149M

The hard cap will probably be around $170-175M which would give us full use of our MLE and BLE.

- Sign Schroder, BLE, $5M, 2 years.
- Sign Christian Wood, MLE, $11M, 2 years + player option 3rd year.

PG: Russell/Schroder
SG: Beasley/Reaves/
SF: DFS/
PF: LeBron/Vanderbilt/

Pretty damn good 9 man rotation. They'll have a good 2nd round pick this year. Get a few vet mins to round out the roster and you're good.

D’Lo is also a better shooter and taller and therefore more flexible but I have major concerns about his dedication.
And so I’ll rather have FVV but they need to make sure they have enough money to resign Reaves.

Neither LeBron, nor AD have shown that they can be counted on to take us deep into the playoffs, for the last 3 seasons now... The term 'Wasting another year of LeBron's prime' should be out the window at this point...
We should get the best available talent with that pick, period. Sure, trade it if there's something that moves the needle (not KCP), but we shouldn't be afraid to use it either, if there's something intriguing on the board.

FVV or DFS? Sure.

Otherwise, I trust our scouts.

I keep getting this gut feeling that Lillard wants to be our PG next season. Something will have to shake down as James is getting older.

D Lo will simply not ever be in any of my long term plans because of his lack of defense. I’d rather we draft a new PG than re-signing him.

we can get a lot for LeBron and the off season. The best players I can think of that are attainable, are Damian Lillard or Donovan Mitchell. we could also get KD

LeBron for ... Mitchell and Allen (ticket sales in Ohio will go nuts)

AD and Beasley for DeRozan and LaVine (they'll need a center and vuc won't be worth it)
