OT Dejounte Murray traded to the Pelicans

Post#1 » by Pointgod » Sat Jun 29, 2024 12:24 am

Can’t lie I think we should have gone after him but maybe we didn’t have the ammunition.

It takes so little to acquire him?

When negotiating with the Lakers, they ask for Rui Reaves and picks.

He wouldn't be a great fit on the Lakers just like in Atlanta. Inefficient scorer who needs to be the primary playmaker to get the most out of him.

As they should, Rui shouldn’t have a ton of value and that was a half year ago

If I could, I would bet you a drink that DLo doesn't get traded In the off season, but more closer to the deadline LOL

I would be shocked If he gets traded b4 the start of season

So the problem now is they can’t sign anybody including Max Christie because Rob hates to be in the 2nd Apron.
But now DLo’s and Hayes’ expiring contracts now are a bit more appealing for rebuilding teams like Wizards, Nets, Pistons etc, possibly the Hawks too because they are looking to shed long term contracts.
I read Orlando wants DLo but doesn’t want to pay him a ton and commit long term, now they can also trade for him and get rid of player/s they don’t like.

Dlo Vincent Hayes jhs for ayton or dlo Vincent rui jhs picks for Lauri
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

This is prob the way to view it. DLo resigned with us...not because he wants to be here. But because his agent pounded on doors, and absolutely nobody is interested in him for the price he wants/we're paying him. Let's make that clear, and get it out of the way. This wasn't him "believing in what we're doing here" or any of that. He's getting squat his next contract.

So count on him jacking up lots of shots, and doing whats best for him next season (except play hard D...that never happens).

The hard part is going to be finding a good trade. No team is gonna part with something good. If some team is looking to shed long term contracts, it's cause they are stinkers....or they're gonna want picks, and good young players in return....not DLo's sorry ass. You might find a team that will take a pick and DLo for a player....DLo being the salary match. These tend to be desperation moves the Lakers do that almost always get us junk in return.

So while there are possibilities...I think Rob would be smart to just ride this year out, and let him walk. If something promising walks in the door....you take it. But I wouldn't even bother doing any of shopping. We already did last Jan....and DLo just did all the footwork for you a second time. There's no interest.

Maybe a wake up call??? You people that think we have a good team....but for our horrible coach that ruined it all last season. Well our #3 is prob gonna get a MLE next season. This team is 2 deep....and one's 40 and the other is made of glass. This is not a team worth keeping.

Yeah, if we get a good opportunity/offer, we gonna trade Dlo plus JHS and wood or Hayes. Got to reduce a guard, a backup center and replace them with better longer players.

We prob gonna throw in 1-2 picks to get it done.

Reduce number of players esp with Bronny signing a contract and get us under 2nd apron to be able to resign Max Christie.
