Im thinking we'll beat a team we weren't supposed to, and lose to 2 teams we shoulda beat. We've been awfully .500 the last few seasons....so I'll keep it an even keeled 5 and 5. Boiled meat and potato's take, I know....but seems the safe bet.

Yeah...I'd take your 4 losses and add us losing to the Kings, and prob @Cavs..making it 4-6. But we pull one of those 6 losses out. I'm happy with 5-5.

6-4 is a good safe result.

We are returning everyone and healthy to start. Only change is JJ as head coach and not sure why that’s not a bonus other than new coach.

I think we come out blazing after returning the same consistent roster and a resurgent energy and vitality after ridding of Ham.

Did you guys hear how Ham went to Pat Bev and apologized for leaning on the talent and not going through enough practice? Then he asked for Westy’s number to apologize to him as well.

What a dumb blockhead.

Wasted 2 years of Lakers roster with his “we want all the smoke” **** without doing a damn thing.

I was thinking the same thing, but Wolves will have the edge first game, It will be an Interesting game that's for sure.

1-9…. I would not be surprised if this season is a historic disaster, beginning with an epically bad w/l record to start the season…

That’s kind of what I’m referring to actually…. It just seems like thumbing their nose at the bball gods to be arrogant enough to embrace that narrative as a cover for not actually doing anything to improve the team…
You can say it didn’t cost anything etc…. But it’s still a distraction…. And possibly a locker room and coaching nightmare waiting to happen…

You guys gotta be more optimisitc about the Lakers ... I know I am staying put with my 6-4 ...

C'mon only 1 win out of 10 games? we/Lakers have the King after all

Ive made it abundantly clear I don't think this team has it. Doesn't have it, and it will only get worse...as our two stars decline. I think the coach is a huge question mark. Zero experience....what happens if we do start out 0-4?? This guy has nothing to lean back on. It's fankly, an irresponsible hire. And while I like Knecht, and think there might be something there....he's a rookie. Leaning on him would be foolish. He's gonna wow us with a 22-point game..and then give us two straight 4 and 6 point games. That's the rookie world.

But I doubt we'll go 1-9. I predicted 5.5 i believe. Injuries aside....I think we hover around .500. And either barely make or miss the post-season. AD getting hurt is sadly a real thing though. So it might be a disaster. To my eyes....there's not a single player (Maybe AR the only exception) worth half a poop, after AD and Lebron. So if either of these two are hurt.....this team is a 18-25 win team. There's no elite defenders, shooters...give me a break. Nothing close. It's why I wanted to rebuild last offseason, and called for it doubly so this offseason.

But all that aside....if we did go 1-9, it would be very interesting. I think you would prob see the Lakers give JJ another 10 games to right the ship. Unlike that 2012-13 (something like that) team that saw Mike Brown get fired after (was it 7 games?? maybe 9?) just a few games...this team doesn't have champion expectations. If you interview the players and the staff, and the front office...I'm sure you'll get the "Lakers always think championship" and the old "never count Lebron down" chestnut.....but that would be them lying. There's not a chance in hell this team wins a title (barring some super-volcano destroying half the country (and all the good nba teams along with it) and somehow the NBA season continuing at the president's demand, to try and keep life as normal as possible...or something equally lame) and everyone knows it. It's why Lebron held out getting paid. They know. So no.....they prob wouldn't fire JJ. After 20 games...if the ship aint righted, it would be too late anyhow. They would prob fire him, and make one of the assistants the interim coach.

And boy would there be some egg to wipe off their face. Thankfully for them....the ol' "blame the coach" works WONDERFULLY with Laker fans....so they'd just roll out the next one.

Lebron is still a great player.....especially with rest. The Lakers might do better than 5-5. But it's once we hit game 30 and beyond, that we see decline.

Meh whatever...

All I know is that, at a minimum, our next championship is due in 2030.

Hard to say without having watched at least pre-season given that we now have a new coach. A rookie coach, with a plan. Until I see his defensive schemes though, it’s fairly impossible to give a reasonable prediction.

Mind says we’ll max win 3-7 or 4-6 at absolute best, while the homer inside says we have a shot 7-3 if JJ keeps rotations tight and schemes simple in the early season.

That’s one tough opening stretch for a team with a brand new system. Keep it simple JJ!
