MEM@LAL GM 11 recap WIN

Post#1 » by stan francisco » Thu Nov 14, 2024 6:31 am

What a fun game! Knecht 5 of 5 threes. Reaves’ defense is looking better. Koloko is looking good. The defense still leaks but our transition defense was better today.

Morant on IL but Smart was back. Tough opponent, deep roster. Well coached. Physical.

LBJ was ridiculous. 35PTS, 12R, 14A, 1STL — his 40th triple double. On one defensive possession he defended Jackson Jr successfully in the post, grabbed the board, lead the break and drew two defenders, finished with an assist for an open alley-oop slam by Koloko. He turns 40 next month. Ridiculous.

AD and ÄR were both clutch.

Great to have a coach who takes timely timeouts!

So far, I’m thrilled with this year’s start:
Record 7-4
Home record 6-0
AD playing at MVP level, both ends
The offense finally runs through AD
LBJ is defying nature
JJ is a really smart situational coach
Our coaching staff are good strategists
Our players follow game plans well
Our team defense is starting to take shape
Our best wing defender has yet to play
Tough opening schedule

AD was having a signature sleepwalk game till he decided to show up in that 4th quarter.

21-14 with 3 blocks stat line for a mostly bad game is saying something.

Corrections to OP's post -
- Lebron now has 145 triple doubles, not 40
- The offense is no longer running through AD for the last 6 games, as Lebron's Usage has crept up to higher than AD. And while Lebron's been awesome the last 3 games, it's not been good overall, because we've simultaneously given up on the percentage of set plays ran(per Cranjis McBasketball) without Lebron off court, so our offense is at Darvin Ham levels again.

They have indicated that it's been to protect AD from an injury fwiw.

AR and AD were clutch in the crunch time. Dalton is impressive keeping us in the game when we were trailing and he is 5/5 from the 3 point area. I really believe that he can be ROY if he gets more minutes or start along side AR in the guard position.
