GAME 36: LAL@DAL January 7th.

Dallas without Luka, Kyrie, and Gafford are punching us in the mouth. Tough team we have, getting run over by Dinwiddie.

New rule, AD must get at least one touch before anyone shoots — every possession.

Nov21 to Dec 13 they lost 7 of 9 games then they flipped the switch, won impressive wins over GSW, Memphis, Kings then Jan 3 they realized they have 38 more games with more than 3 months to go smh….
This is what happens when you have a 40 year old leader and a fragile Robin in your team.
They will have more frustrating games like this especially on the road and would try to flip the switch by late March,
prepare for a very bumpy road ahead

I just got home from work, didn't see the game, but how the hell do you lose to a Luka/Kyrie less Mavs?

Dude, you sound like our government: We just wasted three (count them THREE!!) 2nd round picks on that NPC you were high on, and when it produced jack-squat-all......the solution is to keep spending MORE picks! Unbelievable.

"All in on Kessler/Collins - Sexton" <-------- do you even hear yourself? These guys are jokes.

I wish!!! Been screaming it for over a year!! But we just threw away our 2nd round for the foreseeable future!

It's prob too late now. It's gonna be a painful rebuild.

There's nothing impressive about wins against GS and the Kings.

And thats just it: they went on a nice start against some pretty crap teams, and Lebron being spry for the start of the season. But then the competition got a little stiff....and the losses came thick and heavy. But then it lightened up a bit (Lebron got that nice rest) and we won a few....mostly against ho-hum competition. But now that we've played decent teams...and Lebron's not had a long rest...it's suck-eggs time again.

This league is weak as F right now, with a ton of stinkers. So I was wrong that this team will go .500 - it will prob be closer to .600

But your gonna be able to count the number of notable wins on one hand, when this season is done. I'm looking at 2 wins against Memphis (I guess that's "notable"? I mean, they are decent enough. perhaps the two wins count as 1 full "notable win" ). I see nothing else so far. We're a sub .500 team benefiting from the fact that this is one of the worst seasons of basketball I can remember. I think back just 15 years or so.....that Laker team would be absolutely WIPING THE FLOOR with this entire league.

That mid-2000's Suns team that couldn't quite get over the hump, would prob be a 65+ win team right now. And I bet they don't lose more than 1-2 games the entire post-season on their way to a title.

And even with this load of stiffs to compete against, we're flirtin with the play-in. Except for our 2 wins against Memphis....how many wins do we have against a team that is more than 1 or two games above .500?? It's ridiculous! We're nowhere close to a title.

And yet you want a full rebuild of AD Bron which ain't happening, we all have our own dreams wishes for the team, not all going to agree.

I can't wait and really hope Lakers use pics now whether it's on who I want or for other trades, can't wait.

I don’t think the sky is falling. Half the team were worried about their homes being evacuated because of the fires in LA.

Typical trap game. We knew that everybody on the Mavs’ bench, especially Dinwiddie, would come out playing hard to prove their worth.

Austin played like ass. No inside outside. The whole team looked hung over.

They get blown out by a Dallas team without Donkic and Kyrie. This team is cooked.

I’m feeling pretty good about this team, but my Lakers cup is always 3/4 full. Reasons to feel good about being a Lakers fan right now:

Great new coaching staff! Way better than last year. Defense first philosophy, check! Ball movement and inside-out philosophy, check.

Bron still plays well enough to sort of merit his paycheck.

AD is a top 5 center both ends. Monster games every night on defense. Needs to be force fed the ball on offense more to get into the games.

Crucial roster members have been on IL since start of season, but we’re still in the hunt despite it.

Had we won yesterday we would sit at #4 in the WCF ahead of Denver.

We got rid of our biggest defensive liability D Lo via trade and turned that into an intelligent 3&D veteran player who is clutch and a badass competitor in DFS.

Vanderbilt is not a favorite of those who watch O only but I personally can’t wait to see him back making life difficult for 1-4 opponents every night. It’s going to make a big impact if(!) he stays healthy rest of season.

Max is a super value contract. Keep him. He is a super smart and young(!) player whose offense is better than he has shown yet. His defense is already amongst the best on our team. At 32M per for four years…

Knecht! He stays, too. We got so lucky.

Reaves stays, too. He fills the function offensively that Ginobili and Parker used to for the Duncan led Spurs. He penetrates jerky jerky unpredictable stop and go style, makes the right decisions after he collapses their defense. Stronger base needed for better defense.

Gabe is playing well.

Hayes is looking better than ever.

Wood is coming back.

Olivari is a wild joker card to play in the playoffs.

Reddish is playing well on defense but needs to knock down the midrange opportunities he always gets and never takes. A reliable pull-up 15-18’ footer jump shot could change his impact significantly.

Even if Bron retires, a roster of Vincent, Reaves, Christie, Knecht, AD, Vando, isn’t exactly a bad starting situation for a star to go to.

Then, there’s always improvements via trade. When a Butler is moved, let’s hope we can somehow capitalize on the ripples made.

OKC/CLE will be fun to watch tonight.

This team is such fools gold. We barely squeeze by the bad teams and get destroyed by the good ones. That's a sign of mediocrity.

We go play Sacramento five times in like two weeks, win all of them, and then all of local media was hyping this team up too much.

We’re one medium size trade away from being a legit contender. Surrounding pieces around Butler might present an opportunity. I trust Rob in this scenario. Rambii and Jeannie, stay away!

We should all be so lucky. This ownership, and FO need to be replaced.

This ownership and FO need to be replaced.
They need to trade Lebron and AD for as many picks they can get and start the full rebuild. What else?

I get it, if they don't do these steps, that it will be a very painful rebuild when James retire but
What are the chances of that happening?
I don't see Jeanne selling and it's going to be next to impossible that she trades Lebron because she knows her aging superstar sells tickets.
Clippers are playing better organized/disciplined basketball and yet Balmer has been shocked on how fans have chosen not to check out his fancy stadium. Most attendees are casual fans who would pay money to see stars.
So for now, I would rather try to watch and enjoy every win and yes, there will be more frustrating disgusting losses along the way rather than whine and moan on why they chose this path.
