Why didn't the Lakers see who else they could get for AD

If AD was on the table, it's seriously poor management that the Lakers did not see what other offers were available. What trades could they have got instead of Luka.
I can not think of a worse max pairing than Luka and Lebron- they both have the same strengths and weaknesses.
Seems the Lakers jumped at trading for Luka without doing any due diligence. He is a bad fit, has a poor attitude on court and off. It should have been a red flag when Dallas called and said keep it quiet - it showed that they didn't want the market correctly judging Luka. Dallas have come out of this looking like they fleeced LA.
Will the decision makers at the Lakers be held accountable for this absolute howler??

this is a satirical post, right?
I agree, the pairing of LeBron and Luka is awkward, but every GM in the league would trade AD for Luka. It is amazing the Mavs didn't ask for Reaves in return as well.

You do the trade 110% of the time, no questions asked. Tell me anyone here on Realgm who wouldn't do this trade.
If you don't do this trade you're lying to yourself.
Edit: Thank you mods LOL

Come on man....one of them is 40, and will leave this summer, or the next. They are not a "pairing".

Seriously - the Laker front office should have seen what else they could get. That's just normal running of a team. Dallas have been rightfully smashed for not putting Luka out to market, but why should LA escape the same scrutiny when their plan has failed?
Pairing an aging Lebron with a short term Luka was a roll of the dice at a title, a first round exit is worst case. Why are Lakers fans ok not looking at other options?

I was expecting us to have big problems on defense, rim-protection and rebounding with AD gone. While it worked well at the end of the season it showed up big time in the playoffs.

AD did not want to be playing center on this Laker team and Rob P made a great trade to get back an All Pro player whom the team can build around moving forward.
Yes, roster construction will need improvement.
The Lakers won the trade. Go onto the Mavs board and read how they feel about trading away Luka.
