We needed that 3D....well, pelinka Delivered. Smart is a solid defender. And a quality standard shooter. Not Elite shooter. But enough quality to make teams pay from the perimeter

Yep, great pick up. He should come off the bench for when the team wants defense?

Let's hope he doesn't get the Lakers curse and become a no show with his shooting

Yeah, he a strong defender. And Luka recruited him, so we had to deliver for Doncic

I think reeves off the bench is more fitting, and smart can guard the other teams best guard

Aha! I see the gameplan. Luka recruits Smart. Then Smart recruits Horford!

People saying he's washed on general board.

I welcome him. That's fine. When did we never bring onboard someone way past his prime.

He's only 31. You know how the general board is. Anyone the Lakers get is trash and whoever leaves is awesome.

Smart move, my only concern is the number of games he has missed over the last two seasons...!

This is a good move because we didn't use any assets, it's 2 years, and its $5.5m a year...which is peanuts in today's NBA. Absolute peanuts.

With that said.....you got a guy who was A) just waived by his team. B) joined the Lakers for "peanuts" as we just agreed above. That tells you a little something about his options. So everyone just know that, before the expectations go anywhere. I get DPoY and all that...that was before the injuries the last couple years. So let's not pretend we just robbed the league here.

But our risk is essentially zero. Much like using the 55th to get Bronny, if it doesn't work out......oh well. Marcus still has a fair chunk of career left in him, if his body allows. He'll be eager to prove his worth here. Let's hope he delivers good defense, and is able to keep himself on the floor. More than worth it, if he can deliver on that.

Not a huge fan of getting a 9-year Celtic, but this is today's NBA I guess.

Yes. Great defensive mentor for Adou Thiero, LaRavia, Bronny, Reaves, Knecht.

If he is healthy enough to start, fantastic. I certainly don’t expect him to be in starter’s shape for that money. By his defensive stats he’s already by far our best defender.

Would be great to let Reaves lead our second unit.

Great D but not really a 3. And I hope and pray im wrong bur 600+games when he averaged below 32.4% is such a concern for me that it’s possible he can get buried in the bench if opponents would just dare and leave him open like Westbrook.

I was a big hater of Rondo before he came to play with us and then he ended up being one of my beloved. So I have no problems with this.

Low risk high reward move. I still believe there will be another move to come but I kinda like this Smart signing because he can fill our need defensively.

I really hope Smart stays healthy. He’s the perfect fit here.

Hoping Lakers can grab one or two more veteran defenders / shooters.

Lakers severely underrated going into next season, Luka is going to have a redemption season.

He’s in it to prove himself elite this year.

So is Ayton. And Reaves. And Knecht. And Vando. And even LeBron and Luka are. So is Redick, btw. And Pelinka.

Lakers Redeem Team. I like.
