Sounds like they aren't impressed with JO anymore. Watching last night I wasn't that impressed with him either. I most definitely wouldn't trade Bynum for him, and I'm not sure if I would do Odom for him either. Odom makes less and will be expiring sooner.

That's the postgame thread from yesterday's game. Most Pacer fans want a change and JO is the culprit. If Lakers management offers Odom/Kwame/Critt for JO/Murphy I think Bird will take it.

Ok, now why exactly would Lakers FO do that?

Odom while streaky now isn't pressed w/ being the 2nd option behind Kobe.

Critt- IMO opinion jury is still out whether to trade the guy or not. (see Bynum's situation from last year)

He's an good ball handler and has good instincts on when to take it to the basket. He's not a PG by any sense but does have the size Phil likes and speaks well of him.

You got to trade Odom for him because of size alone and JO is no tweener. Tweeners are the worst. Undersized and versitle is one thing but to small for 4 and to slow for the 3 is terrible.

Right now the most I would offer is Odom, Kwame and a first rounder... No Murphy and no Critt... The only way I take Murphy is if you guys take Radman which wont happen either

And in all honesty I would rather just wait and see if JO opts out and forces a sign and trade after this season is up... From the looks of things you guys will either lose in the first round or miss the playoffs altogether so I wouldnt be surprised if JO does opt out... Then we could try Odom and Mihm for JO (s&t 2 year/30 mil)

Fisher/Farmar/Crittenton
Kobe/Sasha/Karl
Luke/Ariza/Rad
JO/Turiaf/Rad
Bynum/Kwame(re-sign for cheap)/JO

There is no advantage whatsoever to Odom and his expiring. We won't have cap room by the time he expires, so we might as well trade his when the opportunity presents itself.

JO would be a very nice upgrade over Odom, and it would allow us to compete against teams like Boston and San Antonio. JO would make an immediate impact, and I like that he's mostly a mid-range guy since Bynum will be handling his business under the basket. All this talk about "2nd options" should really stop at this point. We've done fine this season without really knowing who that 2nd option is, and right now, it's look like Bynum and not Odom. Regardless, we're getting JO for his ability to take the pressure off of Bynum defensively, and also to help space the floor better. We would now have a guy who can take on both Duncan and KG to help slow them down.

Don't get me wrong, Odom is playing very well lately, but you can't underestimate the importance of having an all-league defender like JO playing alongside Bynum.

if JO has knee problems still and he's not just dogging it, which I doubt vs a team like us he wants to be on, then we might want to stick with Odom. We are running these days and scoring is up. JO looks like he needs an entire year off and he's too expensive for that.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves, in the month of December JO averaged 19 points, 8 rebounds, 2.6 blocks on 48.5% FG, 86% FT in 15 games.... JO/Bynum would be the BEST PF/C Combo in the league

Nice to see Odom get some love. Bynum is more feared than weapons of mass destruction in Indy. You know we are coming around as a team when the other teams fans arent even mentioning #24.

It's noteworthy that JO played 33.3 MPG in the month of December as well, which is a full 4 minutes less than Odom.

The only problem JO is have now is the coach. The Coach doesn't know how to use him. The Pacers coach Likes three point shooters. Thats what gets the Pacers in trouble they settle for to many three pointers. Last nights game against the Lakers was like every other game the Pacers have played this year. Early in the games JO gets the ball and scores.. Then the other players get a little selfish and start chucking up three's. If the coach ever learns how to use JO the Pacers can be a very good team. On This team JO should be averaging 25 Points and 12 rebounds. But the Pacers Coach Doesn't know what the HELL He's doing.

Indiana can keep him......unless they're willing to accept Odom-Radmanovic-2nd Rounder.

I would totally trade Odom, Brown and Crittenton or a first rounder for JO. Unless Crittenton turns into a superstar, there is no way we can lose in this trade. This season, we have been winning a lot of games even without Odom, Brown and Crittenton playing at all. Which means, we can afford to get JO here and let him sit out for as long as he needs to get himself ready for the playoffs. JO and Bynum will be a monster frontline for us on both ends of the floor. And JO has what it takes to step up in tough games to play against the likes of Duncan, KG, Nowitzki and Stoudemire, so we don't have to relay on Bynum in the playoffs.

I'm one of the few Pacer fans that doesn't want to trade JO. I dont think we could get another player with his talent. i'm hoping the Pacers will trade some of the other players to get him some help. The Players they have now are Very selfish. They're not like JO He wants to win the other players are worried about there stats.

^^^ That's pretty much what I'm thinking. The biggest concern for JO is obviously his knee's, but he looks like he's doing fine as of now. Phil is going to realize his injury history (like he has with Odom, Kwame, and others) and likely play him less than Kobe, but we see how effective he is even at only 33 MPG. Phil has made a concerted effort to play our veterans less minutes this season, and I think in the long run it will pay off huge.

I know this isn't the trade thread, but we should look to involve Miami in a 3-way trade with Indy. Miami would get Odom, Turiaf, and Critt, Lakers would get Haslem and JO, Indy would get all expirings (J. Williams and Kwame Brown). Heat fans, in general, love that trade, and I think Indy would go for it as well since it clears up so much cap room (It works, according to the trade-checker). Of course, with that trade we'd have to pray that Bynum doesn't get injured this season, and go after Kwame for the MLE this next off-season. We'd also have one hell of a PF rotation, and if JO does go down for a period, Haslem can take his place as he's starting material anywy (and playing pretty well).

I'm kind of 50/50 on this, what if he's on the decline like Shaq. Then it would be all over for us. We can win ok teams without Odom, but we need him against teams, like the celts, suns, utah, and spurs. Especially the Spurs or Celts because Bynum is not ready to dominate those teams yet.

Indiana wants to play a three-point happy, uptempo game. Jermaine O'Neal doesn't fit in Jim O'Brien's coaching style.

He doesn't look "slow," as some of those Indy posters have said on that forum. He doesn't look hurt either.

He just looks like he doesn't fit. Dunleavy, Murphy, Granger, Rush, Tinsley, jacking up threes. Terrible.

He's better in a half-court defensive-minded team like the Pacers were in the past. He'd be perfect in our starting lineup, as our offside forward.
