I'm with you on this one snaq. I've had about as much as I can stomach with all this "potential" talk. It's beyond me why so many people would gladly choose to part with Farmar over Critt, when Critt hasn't really shown us anything meaningful as of yet. People assume Farmar doesn't have the "All-star" potential that Critt possesses (based on what I might ask...), but even if that's true from a physical standpoint there's much to be said about a player's mental game. Farmar's mental game is his strongest asset. He's shown since his rookie year that he has the composure of a veteran player.

If we end up pulling off a trade before the deadline and it came down to a choice between Farmar and Critt, I'd much rather go with the proven package.

to be fair, Critt is only 19 with 1 year of college experience... Farmar went to college for 2 years... Look how much Bynum improved from 19 to 20...

I think Java's just not in sync right now. Since the regular season started, he just hasn't seen minutes. I think it's a little too much to ask from a rookie to produce with inconsistent playing time.

He doesn't know what his role is, he's not playing confidently, and he has zero chemistry with his teammates.

That being said, I like his skill set. The guy has good handle, he's got a nasty crossover, and he's got good instincts. He's not making good decisions, but he's not a natural point guard, he's going to make mistakes.

The thing about Farmar is that he settled on his role and he's executing it. He's shooting or scoring the ball. He's pushing the tempo. He's shooting that three because he has a terrific stroke.

Java is just struggling with rookie problems, which are exacerbated by the fact that Fish and Farmar are playing so well.

But I'm definitely disappointed, don't get me wrong. I thought he'd be doing a lot better.

But at the same time, I didn't expect Fish to have a career year, nor did I expect Farmar to lead one of the best bench units in the league.

Fisher was much better in limited time last year than Critt has shown. Honestly I havent seen the flashes of greatness that I saw in Bynum and even Farmar. I hope that once Vlad and Sasha are healthy that we can put critt into the d-league. He needs the work.

I agree. While he has skill he's not ready for the big time yet. Critt will be a hand full in about 2 years.

Bynum had quite a few negative threads in his rookie and sophmore years, but have yet to see one on Critt...that's all am saying.

There is no question Critt has the tools to be a great player in this league.

The dissapointment has been that he does not consistently play in our system when he gets in the games. He holds the ball too long and doesn't run the offense the way the coaches want.
Some of that is his eagerness to show his talents off because he doesn't get in that often.

What he needs more than anything is PT. His time will come.

Farmar and Critt are quite different and its unfair to compare Farmar's composure with Critt's or Critt's flair with Farmar's.

Farmar is the level headed, smart and hard working floor general who likes playing fundamental ball whereas Crittenton is the flashy guard with a killer cross over and a tendency to play with flair and style and he's going to learn from his mistakes, like Kobe did with the 3 air balls against Jazz. I'm just too glad that he's not intimidated in the big league to trust his natural instincts.

The story goes on...it was Bynum a couple of years ago, now it's Javaris...c'mon ! He'll prove you wrong as Bynum did ! You'll see !

The guy has more talent than Farmar. He's quicker, his crossover is sick etc. etc.
Give him a little more time. We know what he can do, at least me, it's just a matter of time...maybe not in the Lakers squad, maybe in another team, but he'll say his word.

He's very capable in 2 years to be a 15 + 7 guy.
Farmar ? Maybe too ?! But he'll have to work much more than Javaris to achieve that because Critt has got a lot more talent. Maybe someone did not notice it ?!

I think the guy will be just fine, give him the chance, he has a lot of time and room for improvement.

After watching Critt's game he has not really impressed me. I think the only reason why Phil is playing him is we might include him in a Kwame Brown trade.
