Bynum out / C addition talk, MERGED

Post#1 » by TruSkool » Thu Jan 10, 2008 8:01 am

In order to keep the board from getting too cluttered, I merged all seven "In Bynum's absence" threads discussing essentially the same thing.

the lakers are playing beyond expected and i hope they continue this type of play...
hopefully our good words dont jinx the lakers!
what if we hit the 26-13 mark like last year, and then end up being a fluke like before?

Last year we had a lot of home games and were winning games by like 5. This year were winning games by 30. Lamar has missed games, Kwame has, Vlad has, Luke has. Weve been injured and played through it. PLus something happening once isnt a jynx or curse.

We're way deeper.

We're more experienced.

And we have an entirely different Andrew Bynum.

Lets get this straight once and for all

Last year we started great because
1) 17 of our first 24 games were at home
2) Our starters worked well together and had good chemistry (Phill managed to maximize the potential of Smush, Kwame, Luke etc) but we did not have much of a bench

As soon as someone got injured it heavily affected the entire team because we had no depth and relied so much on the starters... Couple that with the fact that we were bad defensively and our rode trips came at times when we were most injured

This year we have started great because
1) Bynum
2) Fisher
3) Bench development
4) Defensive rotations
5) We have learned to win on the road
6) When someone gets injured his backup is ready and willing to step up
7) Free throw shooting is much better
8) Fisher
9) Bynum

We are so much better this year its not even funny

:noway: Show me a team that went through injuries like us last year that stayed at a high level.

The best teams were virtually injury free in a year that might have had the most substantial injuries I've ever seen in a season.

Amongst all the good reasons everyone mentioned above is the fact that Kobe and other starters are getting away with some games playing under and just over 30 minutes.

We are actually going to have a fresh team for the close out of the season! Go have a look and the minutes the big three log and teams like Phoenix. Dam bring on the playoffs, im pumped!!

We should be alright. I dount in any way that we will lose 21 of 31 like last year. That's highly unlikely. And the injuries this year have come one at a time basically.

Were completely different because Bynum didn't play half this good last season. And Farmar is improved, plus we got Fish so we should stay solid.

We'll be alright, we're so much better this year than last year that it's ridiculous.

We really have no idea what the potential of that team (06-07). At 26-13 they only needed to go 24-19 to reach 50 wins. If it weren't for the injuries 50 wins is very attainable.

We are the MOST injured team last year and that was a fluke season (in terms of injuries) actually.

Yes we are better this season and we can be a 55 win team. But last year's team was no slouch pre-injury. It is all about health.

well, he hurt his knee. badly in the game today.
during the broadcast, they said he was in the lockerroom with a lot of pain and the X-rays were negative. he will get an MRI tommorrow.
