The Great Chicago Fire Sale
I think its a pretty safe assumption to assume that the Bulls are in a complete disarray; what with their record, and the recent strife of Noah and Ben.
The Bulls have 3 bigmen who are all defensive oriented and redundant. Not to mention that none of whom are in their prime....Wallace is leaving it, while Noah and TT are extremely young.
The Lakers are pretty desperate for a big man, imho. They need to add a big body who can either play D, or play offense....a one tricky pony, however one dimensional, would truly bolster the Lakers stable of Bigs.
Big Ben's contract is poison and I wouldn't consider taking him back unless the Bulls really add a lot to sweeten the deal.
Otherwise, Lakers make a deal offering some type of combination..not all...Mihm, Kwame's expiring, Odom. I feel that one of these three players being sent away would be addition by subtraction.
BTW, this is probably all pipe dream but please mods don't lock.
PPS, I would also love to add Nocioni, Deng, or Sefalosha to the Lakers in any potential deal as well.

why was my thread locked and this left alone (nothing against you, OP), when it is essentially about the same thing? and my thread was started earlier? i even labeled mine as OT, while this is not.
not being very objective, mods.

Interesting, I like Nocc and TT, not sure if what the Bulls are looking for , but maybe Kwame's exp,Luke,Critt? Kwame's 9 mill off the books, Luke's experience and I.Q. might help, and Critt is insurance for Hinrich's back. Nocc is a warrior who brings it every night, and TT has the potential to be a KMart type player. I would love this deal but it is pipe.

Nocioni is BYC, but salaries dont match.
Ben Wallace = Kwame & Vlad Rad. About 95% of the Bulls Forum would do that trade (including me)
There are a number of other trades that work out between Bulls & Lakers.
However:
Last in-season trade by Paxson: Nov 2003
Number of players on Bulls acquired by Pax: 15
Number of Pax Draft choices on team : 9 (Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Duhon. Tyrus, Thabo, Noah, Gray, Curry)
Number of Pax draft picks traded by Pax in past: 0
Number of Pax free agent signings on team: 4 (Nocioni, Wallace, Griffin, Smith)
Number of Pax free agent signings traded by Pax in past: 0
Fun Fact: The other 2 players on Bulls are Khryapa (who was essentially acquired for a second round pick & the right to swap Tyrus/Aldridge) and Nichols (who was actually the player Portland selected with that pick; he was later acquired by Bulls off waivers).

This also get us under the luxury tax this year.
I would definitely do that - and have proposed it on Bulls Board in the past.
It benefits both teams, but LAL gets the better players

Yeah but i still believe odom fits this system better, Also we already have walton, ariza And Radman who plays sf with us not to mention it kinda sucks we have to take ben's Contract and deal with the hassel of re-signing Deng when he could just leave after this season i believe so im not so sure we would do it but best scenario for us is Ben starts playing like old ben again with his new team and Deng Re-signs for not so much either that or we let him go off our salaries but i dont like it so much

I dont expect LA to trade Odom. I just said I'd do it if they wanted.
I do think Wallace for Kwame & Vlad is more realistic. LAL gets playoff insurance in exchange for 2 players who dont seem real valuable to them.

I understand that and i was just saying i wouldnt if i was offered ..
the 2nd one does seem a bit more realistic though i do feel Vlad could contribute still because i havent seen him play in so long 9so i would hold off until i see him play again) if he looks the same which is a good shooter but just not a smart player then i do it .. That contract is ugly but A nice defensive presence behind Drew would be nice .. not to mention you never know if ben would wake up again in another city

Ben should do fine in Triangle. He also does not demand the ball on offense & is an excellent passer (but lousy shooter).
After this season, he's only due $28.5 mill for 2 seasons (declining contract) - and becomes an expiring just in time for the free agency class of LeBron, Wade & Bosh

I would do the Deng/Ben for Lamar/Kwame only if you guys took Luke off our hands too. How about Lamar/Kwame/Luke for Deng/Ben/TT ?bulls6 wrote:Ben should do fine in Triangle. He also does not demand the ball on offense & is an excellent passer (but lousy shooter).

We would be under the tax this year but will be way over next year after giving Deng the same package or more than what Chicago offered. We still have Turiaf, Bynum, and possibly Ariza and Sasha to condsider extending.
I would still add Vlad for Joe Smith in this deal since Joe has one more year left on his deal. Then Wallace expires one year after Joe. We would have to contine to develop young bigs to take their place such as Turiaf, Gasol, and more bigs through the draft. Buss would just have to pay the tax but it would be for a good team.
Once Bynum is back:
Fish, Farmar, Critt
Kobe, Sasha, Karl
Deng, Ariza, Luke
Wallace, Smith, Turiaf
Bynum, Mihm or Wallace
