What i mean by that is, not going to guy's in the post who can't post up. It's a wasted possession.
If the ball is in your hands a lot and you are a veteren player of 5 to 10 years, you should be vocal enough to wave Kwame out the post and get someone in there who can post up or gains more respect from the opposing team. With Bynum out the lineup, starting from the 1st quarter, the ball needs to go to Kobe and Lamar in the post. Period. We can talk about Lamar not having the greatest post up moves, but the key thing is teams respect him down low and he draws double teams. This is why our shooters like Sasha and Farmar started popping wide open in that 3rd quarter because the Suns double teamed him. Nobody is going to double team Kwame. You can guard him 0-1 sometimes because he will miss the shot anyway.
If you look at teams in the past like the 80s Pistons and Lakers. There perimiter players had no problems waving a guy out the post. Even when he tried.
1. 80s Lakers - Mychal Thompson and AC Green used to attempt to go to the post occassionally and Magic or Cooper would wave that left hand to get them out the post and call for Worthy to go to the post.
2. 80s Pistons - There were times when John Salley or Rodman would attempt to go to the post and Isiah, Dumars or Vinnie Johnson would wave them out the post and point to James Edwards, Adrian Dantley or Mark Aguirre and get them in the post.
Just because a guy is posting up doesnt mean you have to give it to him. Another example is Fisher going to Luke in the post multiple times. That aint working,so stop feeding him D-Fish. Tell Luke to get out the post and direct Lamar or Kobe to the post. Be More vocal and direct the offense to the right players from the low post and don't waste possessions going to players who can't post up at all.
I mean Luke can't even get his shot off in the post now day's. He looks like a 8 year old kid trying to score on a grown man.
