Calling it, 2 Month Prediction

I'm calling it right now, apoligize if someone has already done this, but I truly believe Lakers can go .750 for this 2 month span. We're currently using the same core with the exception of Smush Parker at point which gave us the hot start last year. Fisher/Kobe/Luke/Odom/Kwame. It seems like everyone's forgetting the Kobe factor. Yes Kobe may have to play his 30 shot attempts per game, but if it can keep us at that .750 area for this month, come time Bynum and Trevor are back and have a good month and a half of the regular season to get their rythym back I think we will be in great playoff shape.
IMO its very reasonable for the Lakers to be able to get 17+ wins in this 2 month span. Yes, someone can argue that they only have an 8 man rotation, but that is really what the Suns use and they are a more run and gun team. If Lakers get past Denver tonight, which so far is looking good there really isn't a tough schedule ahead. Dallas, San Antonio and even Detroit aren't looking like they are playing their best basketball right now.
So for us Laker fans, just watch, just like they did in the beginning of this season when everyone thought we wouldn't get far, I'm calling it, Lakers are gonna surprise us once again.

The whole prediction seems to have a pretty unstable foundation.
I just dont see it happening, regardless of how optimistic I try to be.
Sorry bud.

Haha, okay well I didn't realize setting us at .75 was too high of a bar. Point is, I seriously doubt we are going to make much of a drop off as people are expecting.

Well, even being optimistic, you have to consider the circumstances at hand.
Kwame isnt exactly Bynum quality. He hinders the LAL offense so much. It ends up affecting everyone. They dont get the open looks from the double teams down low (although Bryant is doing a fantastic job so far this game of simulating it).
February is probably the toughest month of the season. February has the LEAST home games of any month, and has 12 away games, almost double as many away games as any other month this season.
Not only that, but February also has the most back-to-back games this season with five. Thats more than one back-to-back stretch a week.
From now till the end of February, Lakers still have to face Portland, Phoenix, Orlando, Detroit, Cleveland, San Antonio, and Dallas.
Thats pretty insane. Its gona take a toll on the whole team. Bryant cant keep drawing the double teams through this whole stretch.

We could have a decent 2 months but our second best player is playing 22 minuts off the bench becuase Phil is a moron. Farmar in the past 5 games 14 points in 22 minutes average.

Phil is moron ....
you can change your screen name twice a week, buddy, your posts still have the same Star quality in them.
I sometimes wonder if you are a real person.

What? Lets not go overboard. Farmar is the Lakers' 2nd best player? No way.
He's a great spark off the bench, but no way he'd be better in the starting lineup over Fish.

Agreed... Farmar is nice where he's at, 6th man, a nice offensive spark off the bench.

I'd be thrilled with .600 basketball.

9 game road trip in early Feb.
No Bynum means more Kwame.
No Ariza means more Sasha(eventhough Sasha has played better this year)
If we come close to .600 ball, I'd be thrilled.

750 basketball psh
i'll call it right here, we'll only lose one game without bynum and that was the suns game
on a more realistic note, i would be extremely happy with 600

Not over Fish but over Luke. Fisher/Farmar/Kobe/Odom/Ronny
Farmar got 19 in 23 minutes last night.

I think if we can play like we played last nite then we should be able to hole on to one of the top three spots in the West. we take on San Antonio, Dallas, Cleveland, and New York. The road trip we got coming up isn't hard we just have to beat Detroit and then follow that up with Toronto, Washington, New Jersey, Atlanta, Orlando(we owe them an a** whopping), Miami,(if we lose to them I'll check myself into rehab), Charlotte, and Minnesota. weo should be able to hold on to one of those top three spots. All we have to do is get past Detroit and then we can pound the rest of the eastern teams with little problem. at best we should go 9-0, but I'll settle for 8-1.

the road trip doesn't look so bad....

You guys take me to literal anyway. If Phil is playing Kwame more then he should and not playing Farmar when he could be scoring 20 a game I get mad and say he is a moron. It doesn't mean I literally think he is a moron.
I will be alot more careful with my words since you guys need that or you get confused easily.
