81-point game; 2-year anny

Post#1 » by diturral » Tue Jan 22, 2008 2:09 pm

Today, its been exactly two years since kobe went for 81 points against the toronto raptors. Just reading his stats is still unbelievable:

Kobe Bryant - January 22, 2006 vs. Toronto
min: 42
fgm-fga: 26-48
3pm-3pa: 7-13
ftm-fta: 18-20
pts: 81

lets just appreciate today that we were blessed to witness something that nba fans we'll probably never see again. and to never forget what he's capable of.

7 3's and 20 FT attempts, besides the fact that he got 81 points, those two stats are pretty incredible.

That was incredible.
I'll never forget that.
Probably the best individual performance I've ever seen in my life.
Laker fans are truly blessed to have witnessed that performance and to have such an athelete as a part of our city and sports tradition.

I hope people don't forget that we were down in that game and would have lost if not for that performance.

The nice thing about the current team is that Kobe really does not need to do that anymore. A lot of people are stepping up and contributing like DFish, Farmar, Bynum etc....

Ya but KOBE has this sick nature about him and his game .
He gets in these mood swings like a chick and decides to tear a new .... You know what in some teams ..............
Who knows when he'll have another one of those , you know kind of like a women .

She loves you one minute and the next she wants to rip your heart out .

I hear you. I agree he has shown some ruthless chick tendencies in the past.
I've noticed a change in him though this year.
Yes he is still capable of tearing it up but I feel a calmness in him. He seems at ease with himself and his team. He is maturing, I think.
I wish I could say that about some women I've known.

True true , with age you become wise and believe that experience comes with age .
KOBE now see's his teammates stepping up and hitting shots that count , he has the vet leadership of Fish which has been rubbing off on players like Farmar , J.C .
He bascially can count on his teammates to come through , but keep in mind who were talking about ..........KOBE ..........

We all know what KOBE can do and we all have seen KOBE take over at any given time .
Honestly I think KOBE is holding his game back , and I think that has come with his maturity and experience .
He realizes that this team is going to get to the playoffs and when they do , I think thats where were going to see the classic KOBE .
The KOBE thats going to tear hearts out and the killer instinct is going to take over and he is going to turn up his game another level .
KOBE is going to ride the regular season with his teammates and the good chemistry that has been working very well UNTIL the PLAYOFFS .

What a contrast! 2 years he follows up his best scoring performance with a perfect team game.

One of the best performances in a Laker jersey ever. Thanks for the awesomeness Kobe.

He looks like he is having fun out there. He is slapping fives and smiling with teammates and opponents.
He is calm and relaxed eventhough there is a fire burning inside with a desire to win.

81 points was incredible and memorable, but todays Kobe is a much better player IMHO, if that's possible.

Kobe is God man.

I was reminding my boys about that game today and they're still like awe struck by it. The stats are just crazy and the best part was that we were down 19 and headed for an L but Kobe got mad at the world and did his usual 3 chuck contest and Kobe just won the game...

And yea man, what we're watching now is an older Kobe. Kobe transformed from Kobe Wan Kenobi in to Qui Gon Jinn. Yoda is and will always be...Tex Winter :D

The Ultimate Black Mamba has arrived. Wait tilll the playoffs like my boy Tony just said. It's a wrap. He'll bring back the 45 point, 15 assist Kobe hahaha. Just like Eli did to get my Giants to the Superbowl.

Obi-Wan Kenobi surpassed Qui-Gonn, Kobe Bryant is still Kobe-Won Kenobi.

Oh yeah...I forgot the entire movie =/

No wonder Obi was my second favorite behind Yoda.

Very good player, he is...
