Kobe always gets punished for not being on a competitive team during the MVP votings. As if it is his fault that Lamar Odom plays like a wuss while the rest of the supporting cast belongs in the D-League. When people talk about the Cavaliers, everyone is outraged about Danny Ferry not putting enough talent around LeBron. But when they talk about the Lakers, everyone talks about how they have talent, but Kobe needs to become a better creator and leader for everyone on the team. This double standard against Kobe has been here for a while now and I don't think it is a surprise to anyone that Kobe is the most hated player in the league.

IMO he does. He has won championships and has accomplished personal achievements. Although Kobe Bryant is Kobe Bryant, we all know the main person he's usually compared to is Jordan. Jordan has accomplished much much more than he has. If Kobe is trying to accomplish the title of GOAT, he will have to atleast match in equivalency of MJ's accomplishments.
Btw Star, the word in your quote is suppose to be "dominant".

kobe will never reach the MVP's that jordan won since kobe got robbed the last couple of seasons...at 29..he hasn't won 1..so i dont reallt hink he cares no more...i mean..he probably does..but ask him yourself...kobe..if u had to pick 1 and ONLY 1..would u rather want more nba rings? or and mvp award?

The author doesn't even mention Tim Duncan, which tells me all I need to know about his NBA knowledge. Delete it.

It wasn't a good article, but Tim Duncan hasn't really had a great season the first half of the season.
He looked great against us tonight, though, I'll give him that. He's had one of his best games of the season against our bigs.
Probably a different story when Bynum instead of Kwame is guarding him.

Don't know if I agree with that. He's averaging 19 and 11, on 50 percent shooting, while playing less than 34 minutes per game (second-lowest of his career) and dealing with niggling injuries.
More than anything, I just find it amusing that the guy is never mentioned when the best-in-the-NBA debate starts up. The only knock on him is age.
Even then, there isn't another player I'd rather build my team around than a 31-year-old Tim Duncan if I needed to win a playoff series.

Well, for starters, guys like Chris Paul and Kobe have lifted their all-star-less teammates to the elite of the conference.
Tim Duncan's had a scaled back season, and plays with two other all-stars.
Duncan the MVP? Really? Not sure if he's been the MVP of his own team this season. Parker and Ginobili have been just as important to their success, as we've seen tonight.

Never said a single thing about the MVP, which doesn't always equate to the best player. Otherwise, Jordan would have had at least 10.
I'm just saying that there isn't a single player currently playing in the NBA that I'd rather build my team around for a playoff run. Not LeBron, not Paul, not Kobe, not Garnett, nobody.

Ginobili was our MVP in the 1st 2 months, but Duncan has regained his throne lately..
I don't think tonight would be a good example of their value..they've both been playing mediocre compared to their usual lately..Duncan will never win another MVP again..shot attempts and minutes prevent it, and lack of interest IMO..
I don't mind that he isn't mentioned though, KG wasn't neither..I guess he doesn't like the big men..I thought Timmy was the best in the NBA last year, but I didn't mind if anyone said Kobe, he obviously has a good argument..
