Shaq's finances show torrent of cash

This morning I was watching Sports Center and they brought up the fact that one of the reasons that Shaq isnt retiring is because he OWSSSSS a lot of money , and with his divorce to his baby MAMA , he doesnt look like he will be doing to good after that .

Can you imagine owing this much money a month .
Well it looks the Heat are looking to keep Shaq until his contract expires .
Even after that , I can see Shaq still playing like Dikembe M. until he is in this 40s .

WOW ......

His yearly laundry bill is higher than most SoFla residents' salaries.

He pays in electricity, every year, more than what Joe Average needs to buy a car.
As for his clothing purchases, now we're in the ballpark figure of a nice suburban home.

Welcome inside Miami Heat superstar Shaquille O'Neal's finances, where a torrent of cash comes in, and more than a trickle goes out.

The tall-head just sent a Miami-Dade court a never-seen-before affidavit for his and wife Shaunie's divorce file. Records show O'Neal dragged his size 23 sneakers over the mandatory financial snapshot for months.

While the document says O'Neal makes an enormous amount of money, $1.8 million in monthly salary, publicity contracts and returns on investments, his routine expenses total $875,000 - A MONTH.

Among them: $156,116 in mortgages on three homes (including his $20 million mansion on Star Island, Miami Beach), plus $31,299 in homeowners insurance; $3,345 in phone bills; $1,610 in lawn and pool maintenance; $12,775 in food; $1,495 in cable TV; $24,300 in gas; $6,730 in dry cleaning; $17,220 in clothing; $2,305 for pets, and $110,505 in vacations.

Child care sets Shaq back $26,500 a month. He and Shaunie have four children, and Shaq had an extra one from a previous relationship. By the way, Shaq is paying $10,000-a-month in temporary child support and another 10 grand in alimony.

To his credit, the big-man-in-the-middle is doing his share in helping close the giant federal budget deficit. The 13-page document shows he pays nearly $6 million a year in federal income tax and $217,000 in taxes in states where the Heat play away games. Property taxes sets him back about $850,000.

This is the part that really makes me sick ....

His yearly laundry bill is higher than most SoFla residents' salaries.
$6,730 in dry cleaning

Thats over 80,760 dollars a freaking year for Dry Cleaning .
I would love to own that dry cleaner .
Can you imagine , your making almost 81 grand just from Shaqs dry cleaning ..........

And child care .......
Over 290K to baby sit his kids .

You could baby sit and take care of his laundry and make well over 370K a year .
Thats more than what a Disney Excutive makes in a year .......

How crazy is that ? :noway:

He only plays for the money. He is one guy that I thought never had a real love for the game. I always wanted him gone even when they were winning. I thought they could have gotten alot more then Odom (they would have had the biggest steal in history if they kept Butler instead they are on the other end of the biggest steal in history in only getting Kwame) although right now I am sure anyteam would rather have Odom and Farmar then Shaq. I still don't know why they didn't try harder to get Dirk for him. That would have been a good trade.

I just hope Kobe is better with his money. Think about it, if a guy with an MBA is managing his money so badly, imagine how bad things could be for a guy that don't even have a BA.

Close, but I believe nabbing Jordan in the draft, and the trade for Kobe both are way above that. Haha sorry for the OT post

I recently had a phone bill over $1000 for a month. Calling out of the country after signing up for the $40/month unlimited calling in the US came back to bite me.
