Luke needs an ultimatum.

I just had to respond to the rediculous crap spewing from Luke's Dad on national TV earlier today.

Asked to talk about Kobe v. Bron Bron Bill W responded (I am paraphrasing)

1. LBJ is hands down a better player, better leader, better teammate.
2. Lakers if called by Cavs and Offered LBJ for Kobe should take it in an instant.
3. Kobe only cares about himself in everything he does. LBJ does EVERYTHING RIGHT and better than Kobe.
4. He even argued with Wilbon and Stuart Scott when they said Kobe is the best closer in the game. They said OK at the end of a game if somebody has to hit a 20 footer for the win who do you want to take the game winner?
Bill says "With LeBron on the team you would not be in that situation in the fist place...but I'd give the ball to LBJ and have him drive to the rim"

Luke needs to do one of two things IMFO:

1. He can tell pops to STFU about the ish that he has shared with pops about his teammate.

2. Get the F*&% out of town.

The way Bill says things does not sound like somebody just having a casual opinion. It comes out like somebody with some insider info on the situation. Since his son is one of Kobe's teammates and Bill is saying Kobe is a bad teammate the General Public is going to logically assume that Luke says Kobe is a BAD teammate.

If Luke does not believe this to be true he should set the old man straight.

If he does believe this crap he should GTFO of town and stop stealing money.

We've all heard this Hating BS from Bill W for far to long and today it just sent me over the top.

If Luke likes being a laker and disagrees with his pops he needs to be Very upfront about that in order to support Kobe and be a good teammate himself.

If not he is high as a kite and should go freeze in Cleveland and see if he is just the right piece to help LBJ win a title. Good Luck with that. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So Bill Walton accomplished his mission pretty much.

You do realize that some analysts go to extremes, just to get people talking about them and what they say, right?

Its all for publicity and exposure and what not.

Youre pretty much biting his bait.

I think we are overreacting a bit.
First of all, it's Bill Walton. Nobody takes him seriously including Luke.
Second, he has a right to have his opinion. It does not necessarily mean it comes from an "insider"
Lastly, Luke does not at all need to say anything about this. He is independent of his dad. His father's comments do not reflect on Luke. Luke LOVES being a Laker and he has made that clear. His best action would be to keep his mouth shut publically.

Bad Press/Public opinion can F things up as we have all seen in the past. This is the last thing we need at this time while we are dealing with all the other ish.

So...I care...obviously.

But sadly to say, lebron is a better finisher in the paint with his 6-8 frame and with help from the refs, he is basically unstoppable with his speed.

I remember our last matchup lebron was going ruthlessly into the paint and we had no answer for him.

Laker/Cavs games are always irrelevant on every level since the refs are always bias against the Lakers.

by what would jack bauer do?
I think I heard this argument before, but it was before Michael Jordan one his first ring. MJ vs Magic. The media called MJ's first championship the end of the golden era and the start of a dark time in basketball. Who would've thunk a selfish player like MJ, could win a ring?

I got another question, is Bill Walton the same guy who said that Lebron is a better passer than Magic? Somebody was saying that about a week ago and I can't remember who said it... :-?

Analysts always want to stir up the pot.

So what?

Thats one of the things every team has to live with: criticism.

Let "analysts" say whatever they want. Thats their job. You just have to live with it.

Its not like its the first time someone calls Lebron a superior player to Bryant. Hell, I consider Bron a better player, but no one cares, right?

I highly doubt this Laker team will let some Bill Walton comments deteriorate their willingness and ability to play.

Kobe homers will be at your door in the next few minutes.

Better call some Kobe haters and B-Scott for some back up.

Charles Barkley and Stephen A Smith were once Anti-Kobe, I wouldn't be surprised if Bill flip-flopped too.
