RECAP:

Q: How long has this deal been in the works?

Working on it for a couple of weeks! Very complex, fortunately everything picked up last night.

Q: Why make the move?

Felt the need to get more active and replace what we lost in Bynum for 8 weeks.

Q: What position will Gasol play?

Gasol will play PF and even back-up Center.

Q: What about Lamar, what will he's position be?

Lamar can play the 2 bring the ball up, SF, and PF.

Q: What about trading Javaris?

Javaris could end up becoming a great player in this league, might end up being a better player than Farmar or vice-versa. But Farmar is in the rotation and he got the benefit of the doubt with our coaches. But it was hard trading Javaris.

Q: Talked to Kobe or Lamar about this?

No.

Q: Spoke to Kwame or Javaris?

Yes, spoke to both players. Kwame and Javaris called him back. Both players disappointed. Very professional for both. Kwame was thankful for being a Laker, and said he wished he did better.

Q: Was this the year to make the deal?

Much has been said about last year expiring contracts. They're valuable only in regards to trading a player and getting a great player who has multiple years in a contract. We were able to take advantage of the situation with Memphis.

Matt "Money" Smith ended by proclaiming Mitch "Executive of the Year."
