Any more moves?

Post#1 » by Triangle Theory » Sat Feb 2, 2008 8:17 am

What moves would you make, if any, to improve our squad even more if you had the chance? Put yourself in Mitch's shoes. Are we done dealing, or is the one more thing we can do..

I honestly say if brown is bought out, we sign him min. AWESOME team mate with bodily D.

"Brown's expiring $9 million salary is gone, but Odom and Farmar are pieces who have been identified as potential bargaining chips to land the future Hall of Famer Kidd, who confirmed a trade demand issued through his agent earlier this week."

This is is why i asked this question Big Bad. Do we really even think about moving our 2nd young pg to do this though? Wow, can you imagine?

Kidd would be nice at this point, but honestly, only if we can do it without giving up Farmar.

Right now we have the PERFECT mix of veterans and youth.

Every player outside outside of Kobe and Fisher have their best basketball ahead of them.

There's no need to mortgage potentially 5 years of dominance for 2 years with Kidd.

If we could get Kidd for just Odom (and maybe Ariza), then I'd do it.

Kidd/Farmar
Fisher/Sasha
Kobe/Radmanovic
Pau/Turiaf
Bynum/Mihm

But I don't think that works for NJ and we don't have a lot of picks left.

I say, if we can trade Odom for Battier, Miller, Nocioni, or AK47, then do it.

Otherwise, let's play out the year and see what we can do.

P.S. How sweet would a Odom for Miller/Swift deal had been? Ok, I'm just getting greedy now.

Trading for Kidd will cause some serious financial issues for the over the cap Lakers.

I dont do it. We've done enough. Farmar is playing great in only his second year and is that main spark we have off the bench. He is the perfect complement to derek fisher. Also trading for Kidd would demand more than just farmar. Odom on the other hand is expendable but I would like to see Bynum/Gasol/Odom front court. That would cause a ton of problems for other teams. Not to mention Kobe Bryant.

Odom for Marion would be the perfect trade for us right now IMO.

That would just creat problems. Marion acts like a baby because Nash and Amare are getting more attention. Imagine him in LA with Kobe, Bynum and Gasol.

I think we're fine now. Mitch made great Trades. Odom and Radman for Kidd would work but I would refuse also this one. The nice thing is, that we have a lot of players that can play more positions and we have every kind of player now.

I agree. I think Gasol/Bynum with Kidd would be sick but Marion has alot more years left in the league. Problem with Marion is he wants to be 1st-2nd option.

I say get rid of Radman also although he might be able to be open all day now with the new trade and Sasha will defenately turn into a player.

Vlad for Haslem would make good sense if Miami would bite needing some outside shooting.

I don't think this team needs Kidd or Marion anymore

Kidd is a great PG, but we need someone at PG who can nail open 3s from the double teams that Kobe, Pau, and Bynum will get. Fisher and Farmar are perfect for that role. And they aren't making $20million, and Farmar is something like 13 years younger than kidd (Too lazy to look it up)

Marion is a good player, but as a poster pointed out before, he wasn't happy being the "3rd option" with the Suns, how he is going to be the 4th? And he won't have Nash making his job easier.

A defensive role player at Small Forward who can hit the 3 would be perfect. A lot of people here were mentioning Shane Battier, and I think he would be the perfect fit.

Battier is a better fit, in my opinion. Tough as nails defender, great three point shooter, super high IQ, no ego, likes to be a role player, Fisher-like leadership for the future. Perfect.

Plus, he's stinking it up under the defense-less Adelman... We should offer them Luke or Radman plus filler...

I'd even do Odom for Battier. Hands down a better fit in our current line-up. Odom's skill set is not our greatest need at SF since we got Gasol.

lets take a few minutes to enjoy what we have... I do agree that the matrix is a great fit but why help the suns match up better with us in the playoffs...

no more moves... lets play ball...

I like it, but not as much as Battier due to three point shooting.

i'd say no to kidd if farmar has to be thrown in. with critt dealt, i'd like to keep farmar to pair with bynum over the long haul. if odom can't work out at the small forward spot, i wouldn't mind seeing him move for a better fitting piece.
