Starting Lineup Question

Just a question as to what you guys thought is your best starting lineup with everyone healthy.

I was thinking it would be this:

Fisher
Kobe
Walton
Gasol
Bynum

And Bring Odom off the bench. Walton seems perfect for starting the triangle and Odom has never really fit next to Kobe. If he's willing to come off the bench, so you guys think it would be a better idea for Odom to be the sixth man ala Manu.

Luke is not having a good year because he is playing with an injured ankle that probably wont heal till the summer break. we can't bring him in the starting line up, he needs limited minutes at best this season.

Ariza at SF when healthy

Walton has been nothing but a dissappointment this season and last.

I say start Sasha to space the floor from double teams on Kobe, Bynum, and Paul. Teams will be afraid to double any of them because Sasha is a deadly shooter and Fisher is not bad as well.

Or we can start Ariza to play defense like Bowen or be an atheletic wing.

Lamar would be best coming off the bench for Sasha or Ariza, kinda like the energy guy name Ginobli.

Starting 5:
Fisher
Kobe
Ariza
Gasol
Bynum

Core Bench:
Farmar
Sasha
Walton
Odom
Turiaf

With the big 3 taking care of the offense, we can make Ariza our starting SF. His primary job will be providing us defense and occasionally knocking down long jumpers.

Our squad would be like this:

1st unit

Fisher (deadly shot)
Kobe (deadly everything)
Ariza (gaurd opposing best player, n atheletic finisher)
Gasol (offensive machine, twin towers)
Bynum (too dominate for any team, vastly improve team d in lineup, plus twin tower affect)

2nd Unit

Farmar (future pg w/ great shot)
Sasha (shoots lights out)
Luke (high iq)
LO (all around player)
Turioff (shot blocker, good midrange and finishing)

D2mn the second unit is pretty darn good like the first. I would piss in my pants if I was on another team.

Starting five will be just the better players...

Fisher, Kobe, odom, gasol and bynum.

Odom is now going to play at 3, the position that he is better at. Now, we will see a better odom.

Odom is a better PF, he can't guard players like Melo and LeBron. He has a shaky shot, and with a team with that many dominant players we need him to make the open shot, which he is not capable most of the time. He needs to move to the bench to lead the 2nd squad when Gasol sits down.

you guys are thinking too 1 dimensional...

This is how it will happen...

C Bynum
PF Gasol
SF Odom
SG Brynat
PG Fisher

but thats just the starting lineup... game starts... few minutes into the game... take out Gasol (you'll see why in a sec) for ariza

C Bynum
PF Odom
SF Ariza
SG Bryant
PG fisher

Now bynum / odom / fisher played significant minutes.. both tired... bring in gasol / turiaf / farmar

C Gasol
PF Turiaf
SF Ariza/Walton
SG Bryant/Vujacic
PG Farmar

Bynum will always play center but Gasol will play part center and part PF... then odom will play part SF and part PF... turiaf can come in when PF spot needs some help.. and ariza/walton comes in for when odom is either on bench or moved to PF... Thats versatility for you... Our big 4 will be playing significant amount of minutes with 2 of them playing multiple positions.

we have non stop good centers to anchor with Gasol/Bynum sharing minutes... times where we are balling with twin towers (beginning of quarters)... we have odom who can play some minutes at PF.. kobe plays a lot of minutes with a few shared with vujacic and farmar fisher tandem... ariza and walton will have some good minutes too as odom plays PF position as well as when he is on the bench... we dont need to make our center position weak by putting in turiaf there...

At this point, I'm leaning towards benching Odom. It just makes too much inituative sense. Let's see how he does in the starting lineup first though. If we can't get a 5-10 point lead when we used to get with Bynum after the 1st quarter(though technically we should be even better than that since Gasol is supposedly a much better player than Luke), then we know it's not working.

Just read an article in LA Times by Mike Bresnahan, and he says there is less than 50 percent chance that Gasol will play Sun @ Wash, because both Kwame and Critt need to have their physical both taken and report beofre the Wash LA game. :(

Odom is better at pf. Remember when he dominated Shawn Marion the whole series a couple of years ago. He can beat 4's off the dribble but not threes. 4's cant guard him, threes can. He's an above average pf, and a below average sf. His rebounds also go down at sf. If you're not going to play him at point, trade him. He played pg his rookie year in LA after Hudson/McInnis went down. He had his best year, in the one-year stay in Miami when he was playing power forward.
