We Didn't Wait For Brand

Post#1 » by shobe_81 » Sat Feb 2, 2008 10:37 pm

Why didn't we wait for Elton Brand, he could've opted out during the off-season, Lakers could've picked him up for about 16 Mill. But that's if he would've accepted that.

I'm still happy that we got Gasol but having Brand would've definitely put us over everyone else IMO.

so we pass on a Gasol deal that was one of the best value trades we could ever get... for the hopes that we would have enough money and the hopes Brand would sign with us?

Exactly, unless you sign and traded for someone we have.

Why are Clippers fans posting such non-sense. Pass on Gasol pray for Brand.

Thats like saying no I don't want 10 million dollars, I will go earn it myself. :banghead:

didn't Clippers owner just said that Brand is not opting out this summer? Besides, if we do want to do a sign and trade for him (that is the only way we can get him because we have no cap space), we will have to give up Odom. Not that I think it is a bad idea to get rid of Odom, but givign up Brown is much more painless.

So you wanted to gamble on Brand (a 27 year old all-star power forward with one more max deal waiting for him) excepting the MLE rather than give up Kwame for Pau Gasol...... yeah I can see where that makes sense

stupid front office i guess.

they see a fantastic deal and they take it over waiting for a guy who comes back after a season ending injury and offering him 16 million which they can't offer (mle only).

morons i tell ya, moron. :banghead:
