Los Angeles back to the most attractive place for FAs?

With the addition of Pau Gasol, I began to think to next season. Could this trade make this the place to be? I mean think of it, last year with the Garnett and Allen trades, Boston became the top place free agents wanted to go. Now we have the dominant line up that is much younger than the Celtics and has much more of a balanced lineup. We have the stars here in LA and we have a terrific bench. With all that put together, I believe that this makes Los Angeles the top destination for free agents this off-season.

It all depends on what the free agent wants.

I'm sure there's going to be a ton of veterans who would be willing to take the minimum to try for a championship with the Lakers.

You won't be getting all-star players wanting to take less money with the Lakers, though. They're going to want their shots, and Los Angeles doesn't have too much of that to go around.

We will have to trade away some of our roster like trade Radman, Walton, Mihm. I think our rotation is too big I would like to see us get down to a nice 8 man rotation.

We need to get rid of Walton, Rad, Mihm, and Odom in the off-season for some good veterans. We won't be elite with those guys here.

Phil was voted the number 1 coach that players wanted to play for,.

Keep in mind Odom will be a huge expiring next year. Things will only get better. I am so excited, dynasty for the next 5 years.

My thoughts exactly. We need to trim our team down and replace the dead weight with capable role players.

Definite Keepers: Kobe, Drew, Pau, Fisher, Farmar, Ronny, Ariza

Don't Need to Go, But Expendable: Sasha, Vlad, Mbenga

Probably Need to Go: Odom, Walton, Mihm

I know there is one free agent target we can target is Juan Carlos Navarro. He is a restricted free agent in the summer, and as long as we throw him the MLE, I don't think Memphis will match that because they mainly brought him in to play with Gasol. He is a great player off bench, and can actually lead our second unit as the go to scorer. He would be fantastic to have.

I asked 3 mods so far, but no response yet and I'll be a little more patient though. Yeah I don't have any other email accounts to register with.

Can never have enough bigs, especially with mihm injury prone. Ronny, turiaf, Drew, and maybe odom are our bigs. Having Kurt Thomas wouldnt hurt. Or maybe resign Kwame for cheap.

Cassell for the vets min next off-season? Bring him off the bench during a scoring drought? Good glue vet to play at the 1 during SF injury?

PG Cassell
SG Fish
SF Kobe

I'm not that high on Cassell.

He dominates the ball too much at times and some games will just shoot every time down the floor without even passing.

His mouth also wears out his welcome fairly quickly.

I'd rather have Farmar start personally.

But we will have to give a pretty hefty extension to Bynum, so I wouldn't expect another big name, unless they come in at the mle.

I know that Cassell dominates the ball too much and, no, I wouldn't want him as a starter either. I just like the idea of having him sitting on the bench to be brought out to score during a drought and as a backup during injuries...
