Gasol Vs KG

Before i begin, let me say than Kg is a better player than Pau but pau is a better fit for the Lakers.
1. pau has a better post game than KG. Infact, Kg's best offensive weapon is fade away jumper.Kg's failure in the playoff is directely related to his love of jumper instead of post play.
2. Interms of passing both players are great. pau will pick apart the defense from the post where he like to play.
3. defensivel Kg is far better post defender and average help dender. Pau is not very good post dender but he is a good shoot blocker and help defender.IIRC, in 2005 they were the second best defense in the league giving up ~ 90 points per game.
4. people say Gasol never won a playoff game but how about Kg? They should have a chance to prove them selves.
In general, gasol is a better fit than Kg. I am hoping for 2008 NBA Finals Celtics VS Lakers. Good Ol Days.

If we got KG for brown, crit, picks, etc than I still think lakers would be a little better. But most likely we would have given up Bynum too... Bynum + Gasol is a bigger benefit to the lakers than KG alone with a very weak center. And who knows... maybe we had to include odom too or farmar

that doesn't prove anything other than that Gasol doesn't fear KG which is a good thing if we go against them... but since we played them twice already (not 100%) it kinda sucks that we wont see them again unless both make it to finals.

KG is a better athlete, he can play and defend all 5 positions. Runs the court better than Gasol. His only downside is the wear and tear on his body for carrying the Wolves so long.

Gasol has a better basketball IQ IMO, better fit for the triangle. For his size he can pass and drive and has an effective mid-range shot.

**added**

when I say better fit for the triangle I don't mean a better player. I look @ the example of Walton. He knows the system knows his role (although he's sucking it up this year on everything except assists) On any other team, Walton would suck it up hard IMO and riding the bench.

Gasol's basketball IQ would make him more valuable in that way.

Just think of it this way...

Bynum, Gasol, Odom minus Kwame VS KG plus Kwame

With Gasol, I'm thrilled we didn't land KG... our roster would have been gutted.

McHale actually did us a favor by not trading KG to us.
We'll never know how good a Kobe/KG combo would have been. But we would have had to give up Bynum, Lamar, and Farmar to get KG.
Now we still have all those guys plus Gasol. I would much rather have this situation than to gu our team for KG

Now as Kobe has said, it's on them to make it work.
Let's go Lakers.

I knew this was coming. If Bosh was here it would be Bosh is better then KG if Brand was here it would be Brand over KG and if KG was here it would be KG the best big ever.
Come on guys I love this deal to but the only arguement we got over KG is 31 compared to 27.

How about these:

1. One Player wanted to leave because his TEAM sucked.
2. The other had to be practically throw out the door.

Loyalty or Stupidity?

KG is WAY better than Gasol. Much better defender, much better athlete, better rebounder, better scorer, better in the clutch, similar but slightly better playoff record. Only thing Gasol has over KG is youth. If you were to simply switch Gasol with KG, and leave all the other players the same, the Lakers would be much better.
With that being said, this deal obviously makes for a far better team than the KG deal would have, since you guys get to keep Bynum, Odom and Farmar.
