Phil questions Carter's effort
Wednesday February 06, 2008 06:52AM ET
On the subject of the Nets, Phil Jackson has carved out a clear position, one that sympathizes with one star and bashes another. The Lakers coach was asked to assess the Nets' wretched plight last night, and Jason Kidd -- whom L.A. will continue to ponder stealing before the deadline -- came out like a rose. Vince Carter, however, did not. "Carter seems to be just playing right now," Jackson said before his team defeated the Nets, 105-90, last night at Izod Center. "Not playing with that fire that Jason seems to imbue in his game."

Sounds good as long as Bynum, Farmar, Ariza, and Turiaf are not included. Obviously for salary reasons Odom
and/or Radmanovic
and/or Walton would have to be included.

That is a sick, sick lineup.
Did I mention that is a sick lineup?

Ok Phil, you got Kobe and you don't have to brag about it in NJ.

Carter never had that same heart his cousin has.

Oh, so that's why Vince played his most inspired game of the season.

I've been critical of Carter since his first year in the league. He has yet to prove me wrong.

The peak of Carter's career will always be that dunk contest. That was it for him. I think even he knows that.

Carter came into the league to entertain, when he couldn't entertain, people questioned his passion and ability to win.

He dropped 50 in a playoff game, are you insane?

I think we should trade for Kidd just to stick it to Phoenix and the rest of the NBA again

This is exactly what i said about Carter. But some people are stupid to think that NJ are playing to their full capabilities. Even Phil realizes this.

I think I'm crazy, but I probably would not deal for Kidd right now. I wouldn't want to mess with the great chemistry Fisher has with the starting lineup. He's been shooting lights out this season, and has been such a great fit. He always struggled in the past when he had to come off the bench for us.
Plus Odom's been really aggressive ever since Pau got here. I like how he's been playing, and he's much younger than Kidd.

It's hard enough trying to incorporate Gasol into the offense. Can you imagine having to do that with Gasol AND Kidd?
