Kobe's secret Spanish for Gasol

Post#1 » by Jordan-esque » Wed Feb 6, 2008 11:55 pm

Pau on radio just said that on his first game in New Jersey, Kobe was actually calling out sets and offensive plays on the open floor in Spanish so that the other team's defenders wouldn't be able to understand what they were going to do!

:eyebrows:

Just like Kobe's new Nike Zoom III commercial... GENIUS!

P.S. Pau also said when Kobe would make a mistake, he would cuss in Spanish - "pu

Kobe speaks...

- Spanish
- Italian
- French
- English

That's Gasol, Sasha, and Turiaf's language right there.

Yeah the words are very similar, but there's a whole different cadence to the language.

Also prepositions are a lot more complex in Italian, IMO.

Very true and I didnt mean they were interchangeable. The learning curve from knowing Italian makes it alot easier to learn/understand other latin based languages as opposed to those who only know one language like English.

My wife is romanian and she can understand what italians and spanish people say without any formal language training.
