Not sure if this has been posted, but just thought I would share this with everybody. In recent light of the Gasol trade, in which the Lakers used Mckie to offset salaries. The Lakers still own the rights to Karl Malone, Ron Harper, Shammond Williams, Horace Grant, Mitch Richmond, John Salley, Brian Shaw.

Really!?! We still have the rights to Karl Malone and Horace Grant? Brian works for us so thats not a problem, but what about Ron Harper? He works for Detroit now doesn't he? How did they work that out?

That's coaching though, not playing. Sam Mitchell is head coach of the Raptors.
For some of these they're just too lazy to file the paperwork or something. Rick Mahorn?

LOL. Funny read.
Detlef Schrempf. The original Dirk Nowitki.
There's a Rick Mahorn sighting as well, he of the Bad Boys fame.

I read there were only 3 players left that could be used as chips in trades now that McKie & Van Horn were traded.
On an ESPN daily dime.
Stein researched the players that could be traded and the list wasnt that large.
Maybe it was retired post player bargaining agreemnet?

Besides the core (Gasol, Kobe, Bynum, and dare i say, Odom), the rest of the team should be comprised of defensive stoppers and specialists who are very good at one thing, and comparably better than their opposition at those facets of their game on most nights.
