Ok i really wasnt sure where to post this since there is no San Diego team, but i thought la is close so this will do, anyway there is a Rugby event on in San Diego this week, its sevens (which is basically the short version of rugby, where games are played with seven players and last less then 20 minutes) anyway its a world circut, and teams like new zealand, australia, usa, south africa, england and many more make it up, i was just wondering how many people in california know that its even going on? this event is played every year, and watching it on tv, there are actually people in the stadium this year, usually its almost empty? so basically whats the publicity like? is it even news?

I live in San Diego and the only sport (if you can call it that) being advertised on TV is the Motorcross thing going on in Qualcom stadium.
by the way what is Rugby?

its being played at PETCO park(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_Sevens)

Rugby is a sport that is played world wide, that if you were comparing to any sport it would be gridiron, however the two are very very different

I live in San Diego and I have never heard a peep out if it.
Petco park is downtown where the Padres play and there is zero advertising about it.

You might have better luck in the " Other sports" forum.

I was being sarcastic to a no green font needed degree.
