While Johnson didn't support Bryant's opinion on a Bynum trade, he did support Bryant's decision to publicly air his frustrations over the Lakers' failure to upgrade his supporting cast.

This is all making a lot more sense now.
Remember back in June Magic told Kobe that "there is no way next year team will resemble the team of the past 2 years."
All summer long I thought Magic lied to Kobe about that statement. Turns out Magic knew what he was talking about, it just took a little time but Magic spoke the truth.

It was never an issue of lying.
The simple fact of the matter is that putting a good NBA team together, especially without cap space or high draft picks, is not an easy thing to do.

Why do you think Mitch called it the "magic wand"?
Coincidence? I think not!

Magic is a smart businessman. If he owns a part of the Lakers, which he does, believe that he will never let it sink.
