Lakers on the verge of history

Post#1 » by Sedale Threatt » Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:50 pm

From the L.A. Times:

If the Lakers win Wednesday in Minnesota, they'll finish 7-2 on their trip and compile the league's best record in nine or more continuous road games since neutral-site games were eliminated in 1974-75. (The San Antonio Spurs were 8-1 in a 2003 trip but came home before it ended.)

Hell of an achievement if we can pull it off. The T-Wolves are 10-39, by the way.

Nice to hear. I have all the confidence that they can pull it off.

It's no surprise which players don't mess with team chemistry... the one's with above average basketball IQ. Pau has picked up where Bynum has left off and has helped the team achieve this road trip success along with the rest of the team's consistancy.

sunday hubie brown quoted shaq saying that pau would thrive in the triangle, which made me smile that shaq doesnt have animosity but with this article and last night great production from our two superstar(kobe&pau) and garbage man(lamar, not a knock on him but he's really good at cleaning up the boards and getting those dirty shots in, im loving his new revival)
this article is the cherry on top of the success sundae

I always worry about games vs crappy teams, but I sure hope this is a new era.

Amazing (and slightly frustrating) to think we could easily be 8-0 on this trip, going for 9-0 in Sota.

They better not let up against Minny. Bring the momentum into the All-Star Break.

wow this is amazing. Never could have thought we would have such a great road trip when it started. Mitch basically turned our fortunes over the head with that trade.

Minny almost beat boston a couple days ago. If they lose to minny it will be a failed trip.

yeah hopefully they don't look past this team, and get complacent. We all know what can happen when you underestimate a team, just ask the Patriots.

I hope they get this and get a well deserved break. The Wolves are on a back-to-back too. The Lakers most definitely should not lay an egg in Minnesota.

Probably an easy victory, but then again, Minnesota is perfectly capable of playing a great game. In the NBA, anybody could win a single game.

Allz I knows is that Pau is gonna have some trouble with Al Jefferson, that dude is strong.

Once again, the Lakers make history.

What else do you expect from the most storied franchise in the history of the NBA.

After seeing what Horford did to us, and Jefferson is a similar type of player, I'm a little worried about this game. Then again, Atlanta had that defensive presence in Josh Smith, which really disrupted our inside game. Minny doesn't really have anyone like that, so Pau and Odom should be able to score in the paint.

If we control the defensive glass, we should win this game easily. Those tap-outs that Horford kept getting is really what cost us that game in ATL. Control the glass, get the win, make history, and get the F back home!

^Good point about Josh Smith, dude had like 5 blocks and nearly a triple double. He was an absolute menace. Makes me jones for Kirilenko sometimes.
