OT: Kidd close to going to Dallas

Post#1 » by feoekells2 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 6:48 pm

Note that this is BSPN, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. The west is probably as tough as it has ever been. Who's left in the east, Lebron, KG, and Detroit.

Would be dumb for them... Harris will be better than Kidd in a year or two and they'll be left with just Dampier to go up against Yao, Shaq, Bynum...

LMAO.

Makes me so much happier seeing what we gave up for an All Star, compared to other teams and what they have to give up for one.

Kidd never seems to do anything against us. Dallas gave up alot of depth.

XTRA Sports and CBS Sportsline radio are saying it's OFFICIAL.

Kidd is now a Mav.

Kidd to Mavs (+/-):

+
Triple-double
Great floor general

-
Atrocious FG%
Old, short term impact
Weakens Mavs perimeter game
Mavs giving up front court depth

Wow, surprised they did this one.

The ESPN article said that Jerry Stackhouse would be bought out and have to wait 30 days to resign with the Mavs. BUT, there's no rule that disallows him from being swayed to sign elsewhere in this 30 day period was also said. Go for Stack if he's bought out or there isn't enough room?

Nets ship All-Star Kidd to Mavs in seven-player deal
Feb. 13, 2008
By Tony Mejia
CBS Sports

The New Jersey Nets have agreed to send Jason Kidd and Malik Allen to Dallas for Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, Devean George, Maurice Ager, two first-round picks and $3 million, sources have told CBSSports.com.

The move grants Kidd his exit from New Jersey, a request he made official earlier this month, and comes on the heels of Mavericks owner Mark Cuban denying that he was interested in dealing Harris, Stackhouse or Diop, vital contributors on the team that took a 2-0 lead on Miami in the 2006 NBA Finals.

Man that makes the West better. But I still like us a favorite out of the West.

Dallas does lose a lot of depth but they get a great player in Kidd and a great floor general.

Trade is good for the Nets... not so much with the Mavs.

Dallas gave up too much depth especially in the front-court.

It would be nice to add Stackhouse. But where would he fit in with us? We would have to move some players.

PF-Gasol/Radmanovic/Turiaf
SF-Odom/Ariza/Walton
