Big Al is solid but he really is a four and we already have Pau, LO & Turiaf therefore I would pass... Bynum will be a monster...

Both sides would say no.

Someone on ESPN once wrote at the start of the season that Bynum would surely turn out to be better than Chris Bosh. Thats the kind of potential we are talking about here and while Al is a nice finesse player, I'd take Bynum for the impact he can have on a game.

Nope, never. If you meant comments of Smills-like haters, please don't follow the idiocy.

We wouldn't trade Drew for Al even before getting Pau. It shouldn't be a surprise since if we only wanted to win now, we would give up Bynum for Kidd last season, when Drew still proved pretty much nothing - and we didn't. While in long run we feel Andrew will be more valuable anyway, with his superior size and shotblocking: look e.g. at Wolves fans already complaining that the most praised player in next draft in Beasley would be a bad fit next to Big Al since the latter can't effectively play defense at C. Jefferson will need good, normal-sized, shotblocking center next to him to be fully effective: while for Bynum only decent role player as his frontcourt sidekick will suffice. Not that this last matters much for the Lakers since we've got now star next to Bynum anyway.

I do not think this adjective adequately describes Big Al, who's a beast on his own... though definitely less frightening than 'Drew.

no deal
i'll take the player 3 years younger with +2" & an extra 20lbs........a true center that will dominate the paint on both sides of the floor for a long time barring injury. bynum's already a player that makes opponents change their shot or second guess when going to the basket

I am not going to be respectful like my fellow Laker posters....
HELL NO to this deal....Bynum is putting up the numbers on a winning team..while AL is putting up the numbers on the losing team......
you guys had the chance in the KG deal...but you blew up.....
Bynum is going to be a Lot Better then AL Jefferson

It wasn't a Wolves poster who made this thread. And no we didn't blow up. Andrew Bynum cannot be a number one option to score, Al can.

Hell NO! It doesn't even make sense for both teams even if we agreed.
We need a Center, not a PF. Centers are an LA tradition in winning championships and with his progress this season Bynum is untouchable. Hell, ownership even chose Bynum over Kobe this summer. Al Jefferson is a great player and who knows who is better between him and Bynum, but as of right now both guys potential is at an all time high so neither team will ever trade these guys away. Al was their main reason why they parted with KG, and we refused to include Bynum for any all star with the exception of KG.

I know you're only responding to a post, but that's a pretty naive statement.

al's 3 years older than bynum. if you don't think bynum would be capable of being a #1 scoring option in a year or two, you're fooling yourself.

I think both clubs are biased on their future big man. Al jefferson is definitely a more complete player right now but you cant teach size nor can you practice it. 7 ft. plus and great work ethic equals BYNUM. My high hopes for BYNUM are worth keeping him. BYNUM is not the next shaq..... he's a new breed

who cares if he is 3 years younger. My brother is 10, so he is 10 years younger than Bynum and he was an all-star in his little league. So maybe he can be better than Kobe? He is younger?

Really? How do you come up with that conclusion?
The only reason Al scores more points is that he gets the ball everytime. He is Sota's #1 option where Bynum is playing with Kobe, Lamar, and DFish. How can you conclude that Bynum cannot be a number one option?
Based on what he has shown so far, I believe that not only he can be a #1 option, but that he can become a dominant center in the next 2-3 years.
As far as the original question of whether we'd do a Bynum for Al trade, with all due respect:
Not only no, but hell no.
