Stackhouse

Post#1 » by LADUANE » Thu Feb 14, 2008 1:52 am

If the Nets buyout J. Stackhouse. Would he be a nice cheap shooter for the Lakers off the bench. C. Karl is not doing anything but collecting a cheap check. Would Stackhouse give the lakers that one extra piece in case someone tweaks a ankle or foul trouble hits. Rather have him withus that against us.

Is there a source that he might be bought out? Because from what I understand it would be very expensive for the Nets to do so.

If Stack gets bought out and wants to go back to Dallas, he must wait 30 days, that would be a long time to sit and do nothing. He could jump on with a team that needs a shooter and not have to wait the 30 days.

He is the perfect player to come off bench for us and lead our second unit attack. Not to mention he is a great clutch shooter. I hope we at least make a strong run at him and try to tempt him with the chance of winning a ring with us.

If Stack waits 30 days, it will be later March 1st by then. And players signed after March 1st arent able to be in a playoff roster. So if anything, Stackhouse is ours to lose.

As part of the original arrangement, New Jersey was expected to buy out Stackhouse's contract immediately, with Dallas hoping to re-sign him once Stackhouse sits out the 30 days required by a league rule that was instituted before the 2005-06 season.

"I feel great," Stackhouse told the Associated Press. "I get 30 days to rest, then I'll be right back. I ain't going nowhere.

"I think Devin has a lot of upside, but Jason Kidd is the type of all-league point guard our team needs," Stackhouse continued. "We just need a jolt. Adding a player like him can re-energize a team, hopefully."

Not officially,

Currently League officials are talking to Devin George and are trying to convience him to take the deal. Mavs may look at other options.
