Now he's way better than trash parker but Fish forces too many of his jump shots and especially lay ups. He could probably shoot 80% from the field and score same amount points with half of his current attempts. When Bynum returns at least some of those shots will go to Bynum if Fish stopped chucking.

This Fisher version is better than the younger version. This version actually can finish from time to time and even finished with his right a few games back. This version of fisher is more flexible, more sure of himself, and a better overall shooter.

Does he sometimes take too many jumpers? Sometimes, but if he's off he usually doesn't push the envelope. However, overall, I think that he does a very good job of keeping opposing PGs honest and makes them work on defense. Fisher has been a glue guy all season and a major reason why LA has done what it's done all season long.

The Blown layups kill me .. they are not as common as i believe they used to be but they do still exist and seem to occur when the other team is making a run

What Griever24 said. He does penetrate to go to the basket but blows those layups. Hell even Lamar blows those too but not as much as Fish.

Fish has a nice stroke. One of the top players in the league in free throw %. When his shots are falling, he is deadly. The thing about Fish is that he shots himself out of the slump.

Farmar is the same way. He's looking for the three most of the time.

The Machine is starting to not be the player. Instead of always looking for the three, he'll pump fake, look for a closer shot or drive to the hole. He either goes for a layup that gets blocked or looks for Ronny for an easy slam.

Fisher is doing just fine. He only starts chucking when the team needs to put points on the board. Both Fish and Farmar are in a shooting slump right now. Earlier this season, Fisher was making most of his shots and rarely missed a layup. Same with Jordan.

Fisher and Farmar are both chucking a lot of shots up and blowing layups, the latter is the most disappointing fact. But as SofaKing stated Fish shoots himself out of his slumps, and Farmar is the same way. Once Bynum gets back to his usual self, Fish and Farmars choice of shots will be much better. Teams are going to try to clog the middle to stop Bynum, but then theres Gasol outside hitting those 10 footers, or he passes it out to a slashing Kobe, Ariza, Fisher, Farmar, LO, Luke, or basically anyone open, then you have to worry once again about Kobe having the ball choosing either to be the facilitator at times or the scorer....this all makes it tough for any team. We are going to be GREAT.

Fish does shoot a little too much for my taste, but Farmar. That kid is the biggest chucker on the team. Kobe needs to pull Jordan aside explain that #24 is the star. Farmar seems to think he is the man at times. BTW the "#24 is the star" statement had nothing to do with Kaleel24.

Fish started to chuck when Drew went down and we lacked offense. He's continued the trend a bit, but I have faith in him. It's a streaky thing, but Fish is Clutch. Layups are something he's notorious for missing, but I can live with it.

I bet the spurs don't want him chucking any last second shots anymore.

Shooters shoot the ball. What do you think Fisher is? 10-15 shot attempts per game is what he should get really... and that's exactly what has happened this entire season.

As for the layups, I don't expect him to miss as much going closer to the playoffs.

Why overreact when the guy is still shooting 46% from the field and 41% from 3, averaging more than 12 PPG with Gasol with Kobe with Bynum and the bench.

He was booed becuase at first he did not want to come when traded to Utah The GM had to fly down to Goldenstate to talk him into it. Then his daughter gets sick, (glad to hear she is getting better) Then he asked out of his contract because going from Utah to New York for treatment was too hard on his family. (most real jazz fans were happy he was going) Then even though Utah was too far, he signed with LA even farther and continued to go to NY for treatment. HMMM

Have you forgotten that Fisher was on the Lakers before he went to GSW/Jazz? Ya, it's ok. The Lakers know who they're dealing with. And I garuntee you that Fisher will never be booed here in LA.

Its not about Fisher just chucking shots, its him doing it outside of the offense when he's just still a roll player. He'll come down without passing the ball and just take a contested jumpshot with no rebounders in the paint, or he'll immediately run in for a lay-up. I don't mind him shooting shots, but he especially should always do it WITHIN the offense at all times.

Fisher knows exactlly what he is doing, and trust that everything he does is at the direction of PJ.

Fisher is truely an extension of PJ on the floor, i.e. the consummate PG.

The "blown lay-ups" and "forced shots" you point to are by design...they keep the defense honest Fish does a fantastic job of picking his spots to do each.

I am actually very confused by this post and a few of the responses agreeing with the OP.

No disrespect to anyone with an alternate view, but doesn't everyone pretty much see why Fish attacks the basket (even though we all know the best he can get out of it is free throws) and pulls up for seemingly "bad" shots before the offense has been ran?

This things have an impact on the game far beyond the actual possessions during which they occur.
