Says Ariza is another eight weeks behind.
Wow that blows
Center Andrew Bynum is at least three weeks from returning from a left knee injury and forward Trevor Ariza is still about eight weeks from returning from a broken bone in his right foot. Ariza's original timetable called for a return to health four weeks from now, but his foot was "healing more slowly than we hoped," a team official said Monday.

We'll really need Ariza for the playoffs.
I think we're OK at the 3 right now.
Our depth and bench play has saved us this year.
Certainly, losing Kobe would be a disaster.
Good to hear Bynum is on schedule to return.

This really sucks because I remember when he was just getting here and people were saying that he has a history of foot problems and I think he replied that it was just a certain condition that makes his foot more prone to getting injuried..... And now--he is done essentially for the year I think.......
So basically we are stuck w/ Luke and Vlad until Bynum comes back at the three....then their is the case of if Bynum is not full strength.....
I think the Lakers' now might press forward the notion of getting a decent small forward that can defend......Anthony parker on Toronto would be a cheaper and almost better version of Shane Battier although he is more of a two guard only around 6'6 but hits three's at a 47 % clip.......he only makes 4 million a yrs but the catch is the Lakers have nothing to offer say Chris Mihm but a lass he is injured........

wtf a broken bone shouldn't take that long to heal unless he runs around with it

This one worries me a little bit seeing as how there were rumors floating about him having chronic foot problems. Hope everything is alright...

by the time ariza was suppose to be back odom would have already shifted to sf so his extended absence won't be that big.

not true. luke and vlad aren't getting all the minutes at sf. kobe was shifting over to sf everytime he was in with sasha and we all know sasha on the court = wins.

Not too good, but good to see Bynum is doing fine

The risk of having foot problems (fragility or whatever) and complications with healing are separate issues, right?

Parker is an upgrade, except he doesn't have the benefits that come with Ariza's athleticism. Not that a trade is necessary but looking at the Raptors roster, Jamario Moon is quite like Ariza.

Haha, I can't tell if you are being completely serious about this, but isn't it funny that this actually has some legitimacy to it these days? Oh how times have changed.

I think we all know Coby Karl on the court = wins.....
That means we blew out the other team and Coby's getting mins....

Damm, we need Trevor's depth at the three. I dont want Luke on the court. That's the worst case scenario for me and Im sure, for most of the team.
Trevor's D at the 3 is essential as he guards the best perimeter player night in, night out.
However, when Bynum comes back, I'm pretty sure Kobe's gonna revert to DPoY status and worry less about scoring since he will have the support of Fisher, Odom, Pau, Bynum, Sasha, and Farmar.

Well, according to this article Bynum and Ariza are scheduled to return around March 9. Who to believe? (scroll all the way down)

your article does not provide a source while the other article does claim to come from a Lakers official.

that sucks... we're good without him, but we need his D come playoff time, so hopefully this doesn't reveal that our foot specialist sucks to high hell: Kwame, Walton, and bum bum bum Mihm... Ariza?? someone needs to get fired if they put any screws in this guy.

Wow this sucks monkey balls.
He got injured like a month or so ago and now it is going to have to take another 8 weeks. I wonder if this is going to affect his contract this summer.
